The wind rustles the leaves on the trees by the canal. The willows that grow there have turned a dark, dirty brown. The weeds are outgrowing the taters and corn The wild roses are withered and gone forever it seems. The horses stand in their harness with heads hanging low. A hard day of mowing with not much hay to mow. There's not a cloud in the sky and the sun's beating down With at least three more hours before the daylight is gone. The horses are rested now and it's time to move on. He'll cut two acres and then head for the barn To unharness the team, water, and put them away And do the chores in the dark again like yesterday. On Tuesday, February 20, you are invited to visit with the Utah State Legislature, live via satellite, from 5:30-- 7 p.m., Kane County Commission Chambers, hosted by Utah State University Extension Service. The garden plan is already laid out on graph paper, I can use it each following year, for the garden will be planted in a new spot each season. With the soil fertilized and damp for two weeks there will be weed seeds already germinating. It will be worth my while to till or rake the area deep to uproot any of these weeds, just before I plant. To give the vegetable seeds and plants a small growingedge over the weeds. The vegetables listed for growing in the garden are those we prefer. They have been grown in this way in our garden for years. You will want your choice in this. Not all vegetables can be placed in wide rows. But those that can, make this smaller growing area very productive. To use this space in single rows negates the whole purpose for growing in this small an area. The garden plan will be shown and described next week. 3-- 4" en Bullfrog and Halls ferry to 154'.
