But none of them seemed to have anything new to say. I didn't have to listen to their speeches, to know what they were going to say. This isn't a singular slam on the Republican party, (of which I've been a member for years.) The Democrats are guilty of robotic campaign rhetoric too. During election years, the two parties devote too much time to throwing rocks, and just saying what we want to hear. I'm tired of politicians in general, and quite frankly, I don't think I'm alone. My concept of what our forefathers had in mind for government representation was that every four years or so, somebody new would take office.. John the plumber, Harry the cop, or Jane the secretary. They would get their opportunity to represent the people of their state. The new person would bring with himher different backgrounds, new ideas.. .and most importantly, not be I job-th- well-spoke- mud-slingin- g, a politician. The other thing that concerns me is that it'd be hard for the common man to get elected these days. An extraordinary amount of money is needed to run a successful campaign. Ceiling caps should be established to assure that not only the rich have an opportunity to win elections. We need some creative thinking to solve some of the problems facing our government. Don't you think that it's time for the political wheel to be reinvented. Letters to the Editor What is your opinion! This newspaper welcomes opinions from its readers concerning any subject.
