Show Wednesday, November 27, 1985 Vflmal ExpreSSfldveftlSef 25 QUEST program instills pride in community Students are at the Vernal Middle pride in their school and community through a number of service projects. The projects are being done in connection with the QUEST program which was started earlier in September. All sixth grade students are taking part in the QUEST Skills for Adolescence, as a health credit. Two of Mrs. Ginger LeFevre classes have completed their projects for the semester. One of the classes planned and executed a special ceremony aimed at increasing school spirit and pride. REPRESENTATIVES ju 26 STORE BUYING The students compiled a slide show depicting life at the school. The slides showed a variety of students and teachers involved in programs sponsored by the school. A group of space people resembling martians performed a dance with an singer and a break dancer. The students worked diligently to present the program and are hoping the assembly will make a positive impression on the other students in the school. In another class of Mrs. LeFevre, students presented a special community Thanksgiving dinner. The dinner was Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Vernal Middle School, at 12 noon. Students put a great deal of work into the project and purchased the turkeys and all the trimmings for a free Thanksgiving dinner. Funds for the dinner were raised through a of different number projects. Students sold pencils, popcorn and candy to raise the money to provide dinner. Members of the Sunrise Lions Club contributed to the success of the program through the donation of funds for the purchase of pies. Other students involved in the QUEST program are in the process of organizing their service programs. Students have planned a program to help animals and another group is club and forming an anti-dru- g Christmas services. The group working with the animals is raising money to help pay for sparing and neutering of cats and dogs. Another group is decorating the care center for Christmas and preparing baskets for the residents.
