Traditionally, it was the season-enrodeo which decided positions for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) held in December. However, this year the renowned Cow Palace rodeo was scheduled earlier in the month, October leaving rodeo athletes with one more week to jockey for NFR positions. But San Francisco still holds a crucial spot on the year-enagenda. With more than in total prize money, $160,000 paychecks from there dramatically boosted several cowboys season earnings. For many NFR hopefuls failing to place, it unfortunately dropped the curtain. For world title contenders Clay OBrien Cooper and Jake Barnes, San Francisco not only widened their lead in the world standings, but it also upped their season total high enough to break the team roping earnings record. Cooper and Barnes picked up $1,400 check after winning the first round of competition. The win increased their more total earnings to $67,587-$85than the previous record set by two-timworld champion Tee Woolman UINTAH HIGH School cheerleaders go through a routine during the Ute volleyball varsity match in Vernal.
