Pioneer THE DARK EMPIRE, part of the "Ships of Light Child Abuse Focus Of Lab Production SALT LAKE. The House Painter, a new play by Richard W. Clute, will be performed in the Lab Theatre on the UoU campus through Saturday. Clute, an MFA playwriting candidate at the University, has written a moving yet often humorous play about a subject that has received a great deal of attention lately - chid abuse. But its not the classic story of child abuse, according to director D. Kenneth Harper. The unique thing about the script is that it brings to light a new victim of the problem, the abuser himself, Harper says. Harper recently directed An Evening at the Starlight Ball in the Lab Theatre. He was a faculty assistant at the Northwestern University National High School Institute, Theater Arts Division and will teach this summer at the California Theatre Center.
