S The Quiltmakers, a retrospective exhibition of work by the Utah students of Sandi Fox, a California master craftsman, will be presented at the Heritage Museum, 403 Wasatch Dr., Layton, on Feb. 12 through the 21st, from p.m., daily. OVER 100 pieces will be displayed. Included will be full size quilts, crib quilts, wall hangings, pillows, patchwork Art Center and week covered baskets and doll quilts. All items are hand pieced and quilted in the traditional patchwork manner. Some of the patterns include the Log Cabin in barn raising arrangement; the Log Cabin in straight furrow arrangement; the Mariners Compass, the Pine Tree, House on the Hill, Tumbling Blocks and a typical Amish quilt design. Quilting is a home craft which has become an art. , SANDI FOX come every other month to Utah for workshops in the homes of her students. She holds a yearly week long workshop at the Salt Lake work- shop at the Kimball Art Center in Park City. Four of the original students who started the workshop program in 1974 will display their works. They are Carol Bitner, Joy Knowlton, Carol Morgan and Beth Ann Neville. Sandi Fox is known internationally for her quilts and for her knowledge of the history of her craft. AS A resident of Los Angeles, she has served as guest curator for the Los nt Kristen Johnson.
