| Show MEETING OF BOARD OF EDUCATION the regular meeting of the board of education was held yesterday with all members present excepting jones the regular monthly teachers and janitors pay roll amounting amoun tins to something like was approved and ord ordered e r e d pa paid 1 d IN member S N X cook reported a visit to tho the Dowe school and recommended that some of the rooms bo be as aa well as some other improvements made which were authorized nr mr cook also recommended certain improvements at the mantua school which was ordered investigated A deed was as presented by A R HeyT and others conveying to the board of education certain lands lying adjacent to the now new corinne school to be used as a school campus the lands were presented free and the thanks and appreciation of the board were extended tor for same and by unanimous consent it was ordered that the campus be named the J W guthrie campus in honor of that pio pie neer of corinne who was so eo closely identified with its growth in early days and who had such finch strong love tor for the school children bupt henry petersen Pc and member P W eshburn were named as a publicity committee on the matter of the school bonds A number of letters were received from various parties asli asking ting for extension of van routes they were all referred to the proper committee committed for investigation it was ordered that every teacher atten attending aing the state teachers convention to bo be held in salt lake city on the 27 S 9 of the present month bo be allowed traveling trav cing eing expenses one way provided that they attend all ses sessions sess lons 1 ot of the convention I 1 less e ss to be retained ree bained and and paid by the superintendent to the state association as a membership fee for each teacher |
