Show Carbon and Emery County Sports Guide December 2001 21 Spartans want to try state trip again EIIS boy's basketball roster Emery High's boys basketball team is quite young this year, but the experience they gain in the preseason should help them in region competition this year. Point guard Bowie Jeffs leads the Spartans. He is Emery's only returning starter. The 6'0" sophomore started as a freshman last year and leads the team in scoring in the preseason. Emery's height this year comes from senior Travis Barnett. The 67 center provides an inside presence for the Spartans and leads the team in rebounds, but his effectiveness has been limited by foul trouble. Peter Nielson, a 6'4 senior, starts at power forward and provides rebounding and some and Carbon have tough, tall teams.
