Show Carbon and Emery County December 2001 Sports Guide 11 Dino divers look toward state competition Carbon Highs diving team is up to its old stuff: taking a little team to state and winning high places in the competition. The Utah State diving meet in February carries the only truly state wide title an individual or a team can win. It is a classless competition: there is no 5A or 4A or 3A. The state champion at diving is the best in the state, regardless of size of school. We have a good chance to do well, said coach Stewart Foster. Our team is mostly young and some are very inexperienced but we will make an impression on the state this year. Stewarts team this year is led by Kim Snook who has already placed well in a number of meets. Also on the team is senior Debbie Clark and Lynn D Anderson and Mikaleen Loveless who wor BEK!! SD (5233) are both ninth graders at Mont Harmon Junior High. On the boys squad the top experience comes from Derek Potter who is a sophomore but was on the team last year. Two other young men will figure prominently on the boys team A for' Josh Noyes and Chase Norton from Mont Harmon. A lot of these younger kids have little experience at diving, but they are learning fast, says Foster. But I still think we will do too; also freshman well.
