Show lakeside Review North, Wednesday, Apr. 27, 1983 5C Selects Reflections Winners PTA Council Council level winners for the Reflections Cultural Arts contest have been announced by chairman Kathleen Green, of Layton. The North PTA Council covers elementary schools between Clearfield and Weber County, and the South Council represents schools between Farming-to- n and Layton. Winners include the following students in the category of art: Lucy Ann Bell, Holt; Matthew ature contest were: Davey Cook; Wendy Saunders, Wasatch; Kelli Andrews and Ryan Taylor, Holt; Holly Covell, Cook; Curtis Carter; Fremont; Kristy Lin Bennett, Mil-do- PTA-sponsor- , , v?msr-- -- :o - s -- I V ville, and Christina Jepson, Knowlton. Music award winners included Christa Jane Holman, Sunset; Nicolle Elmore and Jan Twede, Cook; Trudy Poll, South Fremont; Ann Holman, Sunset; Weber; Heather McDougal, Layne B. House, Clinton; Terri Holt; and Emmett Ricks, Woppel, Holt; Ted Hansen and Fremont. Gena Cooper, Eric Layton, and Wendi Bottomly, all students of Joyce Rassmussen at Vae View Elementary, completed the research papers as part of the Utah State History Fair. Gena is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cooper, 1530 Celia Way. Gena submitted a research paper on the Golden Spike and won second in the region and then third in state in the elementary school division. Week-Lon- 'I Shampoo & Potc Wendi submitted a paper on the history of dolls and won first A place in the region and second from throughout the state. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Bottomly, 1834 Matthew Drive. Eric won the regional third place for his research paper on the Flags of the Revolution. Eric is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Layton, 1906 Cliffs Place. The reports could be on any subject that has gone by and wont come again,, according to Mrs. Rassmussen. They had to be over 1000 words in length, but less than 2500 words, and had to include a bibliography. S44-064- people from throughout the area. According to PTA President Faye Painter, children at the school were given a list of classes including taxidermy, veterinary medicine, forestry, gymnastics, basketball, and others. After studying the list, each child selected the three courses he would most like to attend on a rotating basis during the day. Thursdays activities will feature a concert by the PeeWee Pickers and Cloggers of Clearfield during the day, and later from 3:30 to 6 p.m., an open house during which parents and community members will have the opportunity to examine individual and class exhibits that Rita C.H.
