It has two examination rooms, a testing room, and is a liaison with the student health insurance Center 1. company. Students can make appointments by coming to the clinic or by phoning 7713, and they can talk to either director Kay Messerly or secretary Trudy Jones. To obtain health insurance through the college, a student simply pays the premium to the cashier during the first 30 days of class work. Messerly says she likes students most in her job. She says they are motivated about health care, eager to learn about preventive medicine and their problems, and most of all are "fun." If students need' to have extensive treatment or need a specialist, the center will make the referral. "The insurance will usually cover extensive treatments and emergencies if the students have the insurance," This year for the first time, students will be charged a one time fee of $10 for the health service records. Besides the records fee, students are charged for medication and supplies. The clinic will eventually move to the new student center, which is being built in phases.
