Show V BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, September 9, 1976 into the Unitas where they camped Sunday and' Monday. They returned home through Kamas. Porry Pulse by Mrs. Max Nelson At 3 p.m. last Thursday af-- , ternoon, the school bell rang at Perry elementary to signal school was over tor another day. As usual over half the - studentbody joyfully ran out to the west side of the school where they boarded their buses ' to be transported across the busy highway. Here most of the students get off at the Heritage Theater to ,j.f. make their way home, without orfj having to cross the dangerous SR-8- 4 on foot. This day however, four young boys decided that a treat from our local store would be great. These four took it upon themI' selves to go back across the highway to buy their treat. Although this rule of not crossing the highway had been broken many times before, this day they were not very good of the speed at which the k judges cars and large trucks were traveling. Without the fast thinking of a motorist, two lives could have been lost on this highway. Help Is Needed Parents, your help is needed. The Perry school has made.it a rule that no child is to cross that highway on foot. This is why the school board has let us have this special bus in crossing the children. Only the parents can put strong enough punishment on those few students who feel they must cross that highway day after day without supervision. There is a great amount of concern over this problem. Its true that the new freeway will be finished in a few months, but this will not do away with this problem, SR-S- 4 will still be a very dangerous highway and we must teach our children to respect it and not dart across it.
