Fielding Flashes I "'l Janie Sambrano leaves Utah ' : y ' ' for mission call to Argentina by Flo Munson ' Mr. and Mrs. Bartlolo (Joe) Sambrano and family and Bishop and Mrs. Richard Petersen were at the airport in Salt Lake City Thursday to bid au revoir to Miss Janie Sambrano prior to her leaving to fulfill an LDS Mission in Argentina-CordovMrs. Lovinnie Holt returned home by plane Saturday evening after spending the past ten and days visiting her daughter Mr. and Mrs. A1 Shapiro and family in Tacoma, Wash. She was met at the Salt Lake airport by her son Jack of Bountiful who accompanied her home. While in Tacoma they enjoyed having Sister Helen Severson who is serving an LDS mission in that area along with her friend Sister Hall spend an afternoon and have lunch with them. Mrs. Severson reports she has been in Tacoma for nine weeks and they have had nine baptisms. She sends best regards to her many friends in Bear River Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Shapiro and son Henry and Mrs. Holt also visited in Victoria, Canada and enjoyed a car ride on the a. son-in-la- w v ferry. Enjoying dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Jed Allred of Tujunga, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holman of Clearfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jensen, Mrs. Roselin Draper of Garland, Mrs. Linda Westley and daughters Marla and Michelle of Brigham City. David Hess is Mrs. Godfreys nephew. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hess. Spending the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Jones and family was their son Ricky who is enrolled at Ricks college in Rexburg. er ' Funeral Service Funeral services for Ora Hess, former Fielding resident, were held in Rogers Mortuary chapel in Tremonton Saturday. Burial took place in the Fielding cemetery. Spending Monday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger were Mr. and Mrs. Gail Anger and family of Bountiful and Mrs. Florene Simmons and family of Sait Lake City. Tuesday morning Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wood accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Jed Allred of Tujunga, Mrs. Adeena Bear of San Pedro, Calif., and David Wood of Gardena, Calif., left for k tour in the Eastern a states. Mrs. Sara Moss and Mrs. Elsie Welling spent Thursday in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Moss visited her daughter Miss Mary Jane Moss. Mrs. Welling visited her daughter Mrs. Gloria Holmgren. Keith Moss, Dan Kent, Ricky Kent accompanied by Jeff Kent of Tremonton spent the weekend fishing at Big Piney, Wyo. Mrs. Sara Moss spent Wednesday visiting her sister Mrs. Vadis Gilgen in Malad. Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mason were Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Thomas and son Chris of Soda Springs and Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Mason and family of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Helen Mason is slowly recovering after having sprained both ankles. During the week Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams visited Mr. and Mrs. Dan Korth in Mapleton and Dee Atkins who is receiving medical care in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Thursday evening Steve Bourne of San Diego and Miss Ardes Adams of Tremonton visited Mr. and Mrs. Afton Adams and Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams and family. four-wee- grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mindi of Riverside. Keith Coombs and family. Bob and Susan Coombs Owens of Orem announce the arrival of a baby boy born Aug. 18. They have two sons Shane and Shawn at home. Twenty friends and relatives attended. Games were played and dainty rt light refreshments served. Carla was the recipient of lovely and useful gifts. Vicky Leavitt joined friends and attended the Cowboy Days Rodeo in Evanston Sunday. She was celebrating her 88th birthday anniversary and Saturday evening enjoyed a family dinner party at the home f ls r a daughter Arva , : of Visit Relatives ChrisCurtis and Karen tensen traveled to Soda Springs, Idaho last week to visit with relatives and friends and to check on the grain up there. Thqy took some fruit and vegetables so that they all could have some, since they cant grow much up there. They had some very nice visits and then returned home again. Ben Mortenson is home after spending three weeks in the Logan Hospital. He had knee surgery and he is getting along pretty well now. Good luck and we hope that you are feeling better now! They reside in Virginia. They spent a couple weeks in the Intermountain West, where they visited and went sightseeing. They returned home after about two weeks.
