Eugene Perry officiating at the late summer rites. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. O. Donald Daines of Brigham City. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown of North Ogden, who hosted a wedding dinner at the Mansion House in Ogden. The same evening parents of the bride hosted a reception honoring the newlyweds at the Brigham City South stake center. For the wedding and reception, the bride wore a traditional white gown of satin and chiffon styled with an empire waist and full gathered sleeves with a large ruffle at the hemline of the skirt and chapel d length train. lace and pearls enhanced the bodice and continued down the center front of the gown to edge the skirt ruffle and veil. She carried a dainty nosegay of green carnations, white rose, and baby breath. They wore matching gowns and carried nose- Good Cooks It was love at first sight by Flo Munson When Ronald Mortensen met Linda Palmer on a blind date at a Christmas party, he confided to friends afterwards Shes the one for me! This proved to be true! The two corresponded while Ronald was fulfilling an LDS mission in Tonga on the Island of Niue and also while he was completing National Guard training at Fort Ord. Soon after Linda became his bride. Linda is a native of Brigham City. She attended Box Elder High school where she was voted the girl most likely to succeed. She is presently serving as fourth grade room mother, treasurer for Willard Little League, Primary teacher and a Relief society visiting teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen have three sons and two daughters; vine, Calif.; Richard Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hansen recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary along with a celebration of Mrs. Hansens birthday. He was born in Mind Creek, Idaho, on March 15, 1897, and is the son of Nels Christen Hansen and Margrete Nelson Hansen. Mrs. Hansen was born to Otto Magnus Brockman and Agatha Hanson Brockman in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sept. 28, 1908, and christened Elvira Agatha Brockman. They were married in Brigham City on Sept. 28, 1925. They moved to California where he worked for Central Petroleum in Vernon, Calif., until he retired in 1962. At that time they moved to Utah and made their Panama Beach, Fla.; Leola (Lee) Hansen, who lives at home w'ith her folks in Bear River City; and Claudia Jeffs, who also resides in Bear River City. The Hansens have 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Hansens spent their anniversary weekend in Jackpot, Nev., with Mr. and Mrs. Kai Brockman of Tremonton, Lee Hansen, Hal and Claudia Jeffs. They had a homemade wedding cake to serve for the event, and report that they had a delightful weekend with family GIRL g Sfl v Karen Holmes of Willard has been selected as Young Homemaker of the Year by the Willard Bay chapter of Utah Young Homemakers association. Her selection by the local chapter puts her into competition for the state title, which will be determined at the annual conference of the group in February. She is the wife of Dale Holmes, bishop of the Willard Second ward, and they are the parents of three sons and three daughters, Michael, 14, Kelli, 13, Brian, 11, Kristi Kae, eight, Steven, five, and Kami Sue, three. She keeps a beautiful and warm home for her family and for all who come. Her talents and interests include camping and family outings, music, gardening, handicrafts, crocheting, knitting, sewing and penpaling. Mrs. Holmes has served as room mother, room mother representative, volunteer librarian and story teller for preschoolers at Willard School, secretary of Willard Lady Lions, MIA teacher, Sunday school teacher. Primary teacher and counselor, Relief society work director and visiting teacher. In Young Homemakers group she served as reporter and was on the state board of directors. SCOUT NEWS Swimming Girl Scouts of all ages, Brownies through Seniors, are invited to participate in a swimming program each Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the junior high pool. They may attend singly or as troops for the activity, but every girl must have a permission slip with a parents signature to present to the lifeguard on duty. Richard is 13, Lance, 10; Eric, 7; Gary, 4, and Linda Sue not quite one year old. Ronald is now on the faculty at the Bear River Junior High school. Projects are numerous in the Mortensen household. One of Lindas favorite hobbies is cooking. She specializes in sprouting she has trays with small holes in the bottom for moisture to drain out, where she places beans, seeds etc. to sprout.
