Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. in the Olsen-FeFuneral home, 209 South First East. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services. John Stoll, 79, Brigham City, died Sunday evening in Cooley Memorial hospital after an extended illness. ' He was born Dec. 25, 1892, in Dickenson, N.D., a son of John and Barbara Buschbach Stoll. He married Lillie Rose Cutler in September 1919 in Salt Lake City. She died Sept. 26, 1959. He was reared in Dickenson where he had farmed. He moved to Corinne in 1938 and had lived in Brigham City since PTA OFFICERS Utah Thursday, June 8, 1972 recently given the Army Commendation medal for Wheat, Beet Day Moore Plans Underway Joseph Oakley Moore, 80, of South 7500 West, Hooper, died Sunday in an Ogden nursing home of natural causes. He was born Nov. 15, 1891, in Hooper, a son of John and Sarah Jane Smout Moore. He married Rae Fowers in the Salt Lake temple on June 22, 5241 Committee members are diligently working to make plans for their local Miss America Scholarship pageant to be held in connection with the Garland Wheat and Beet Day celebration. 1921. He had been a farmer and retired in 1957 from California as Packing corporation assistant superintendent of the Ogden plant after 27 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion drum corps and a veteran of World War I, Barracks 1011, and served as bugler. He had been a member of the Hooper quartet and Hooper Brass band. Surviving are his widow, four and two daughters, J. Oakley Moore, Brigham City; J. Arthur Moore, Hooper; L. Gate Moore, Provo; Garth F. Moore, Roy; Mrs. Ervin (Haxel) Heslop, Hooper; Mrs. Blair (Ilene) Dahl, West Point; 28 grandchildren; one brother and one sister, David E. Moore, Ogden, and Mrs. Sephus (Agnes) Jacksen, Kanesville. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Hooper Third ward chapel with Bishop M. Fred Johnston officiating. Navajo Earns Eagle Just prior to leaving for his home in New Mexico, Herman Tuley, a member of the Navajo Indian tribe, was recipient of the Eagle award at a in Harper LDS ward. It is believed he is the first of his people to achieve this high honor in this area. The new Eagle Scout believes it is a step in the right direction in helping his people. He thought that life saving was one of the easiest merit badges to earn. He is a counselor in the teachers quorum presidency. While attending school in the Brigham City area the past five years, he has lived with Joseph Yates and family and thinks of them as his second family and has indicated he appreciates them very much. The pageant will be held Thursday, August 3, 8 p.m., at the Bear River High school auditorium in Garland. It is open to single girls who have never been married. They must be a resident of Box Elder county and must be 17 years old by June 1, 1972 and not over 27. Girls will compete in evening suit, gown and bathing however, the bathing suit division will not be open to the public. They will perform a three minute talent presentation. Personality, poise and charm will be considered in all phases of the judging. The winner of this local Miss America Pageant will be eligible to compete in the Miss Utah Pageant in June 1973. Public Appearances The pageant focuses attention on the high calibre of young ladies who are residents of our area and serves youth well because it provides an opportunity for young ladies, who compete to gain added poise through appearances and gain added maturity through participation in the Garland Wheat and Beet Day pageant.
