Nelion, ion of Mr. and Mn. Wayne Nelion. Scott graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in the field of communication!. Merlin Thompion, ion of Mr. and Mra. Royal Peterien received hit degree in buiineu administration. He will now move to Lai Vegas, Nev. where he hat excepted employment.. He and hit wife Judy have one daughter, Kari Ann. Receiving hit matters degree in religious education from BYU was Max Hirichl, ion of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Hirichi. Max will be the principal of the Davis High school seminary this fall. He is married to the former Patricia Bott and they have six children, and make their home in Kaysville. the from Graduating Univeriity of Utah with hit law degree was Jeff Thorne, son of Mrs. Lois Thorne. He has excepted a position with Mann and Hadfield in Brigham City. He is married to the former Sherry Jenson and they are the parents of two children, Steffine and Kirk. They will now make their home in Brigham. Graduating from Weber State college on Staurday, June 3 was Arlana Jenks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Varsel Jenks. She has received her degree in child development in the school of education. Also graduating from WSC was Mrs. Norma Johnston, wife of Dale Johnston. She received her degree in elementary education. They wre the parents of four children1! Gregory Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Young was also among the graduates from He received his Weber. bachelors of science degree in the field of zoology. He and his wife Connie live in Ogden where Greg is employed. They are the parents of two daughters, Stephine and Staci Lee. Physics Degree Wayne Petersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Petersen graduated from Weber wjth his . degree in physics. At commencement excercises at Utah State University, Stanford Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Young received his bachelor of science degree in botany. He completed his requirements last fall quarter and has spent winter and spring quarters working on his masters, in plant pathology. He will continue his studies at USU. Thomas Hurst, husband of Carol Nelson Hurst received his degree in aeronautical science. They are the parents of one daughter, Cammie Ray, and make their home in Logan. The last week of school was a very busy one especially for the first and second graders of the Perry Elementary school. On Tuesday their teachers, Mrs. Young and Mrs. Morrison took them to the Bear River Migratory Bird refuge. Then on Wednesday evening Mrs. Morrison entertained Mrs. Young and the members of the second grade at dinner at her home in Tremonton. Troop 110 of the Perry LDS ward boy scout enjoyed an overnight campout in Perry canyon. They were accomanied by their assistant scoutmaster, Brent Pettingale. Boys who went were Reese Nelson, Kelly Nelson, Blake Young, Kale Greenhalgh, and Kenneth Bradbury. The Perry ward Relief society summer will hold their meetings during the day this summer. They will meet Thursday, June 15 at 10 a.m. in the ward cultural hall. The program for the day will be a film on cancer that the church has asked all Relief societies to view. Mrs. Marie Olsen, county health nurse will demonstrate on the new method for brushing teeth. This is a must for all mothers to know to help their children improve their brushing. Each women is asked to bring her toothbrush or their will be some there that can be purchased. Janace Wheeler will give a demonstration on preparing a first aid hit. This sounds like a very informative meeting and all women of the ward are encouraged to attend. Court of Honor The Box Elder South stake boy scouts are holding a stake court of honor this evening at 7 p.m. at the Box Elder South stake center. All boys of Blazer B, Boy Scout, Venturer and Explorer age and their parents are encouraged to attend. There will be many boys from the two Perry wards receiving ad- vancements. In fast meeting Sunday, Shanille Anderson was confirmed a member of the church by her grandfather Ridenhour. Shanille is the daughter of Mrs. Vickie Anderson. Visiting at the Anderson home this weekend was Vickie's Mr. and Mrs. parents Ridenhour of Yuma, Ariz. They returned home on Monday and two of the Anderson children, Cary and Sbara went with them i for a.yacatian. Mr. 'affdMrs. Earl Young attended church Sunday morning with their son Greg and his family in Harrisville. Greg and Connie had their infant daughter, Staci Lee named. Kathy Young also spent the past 10 days and left most are landscapes with winter several scenes, to return to their home this morning. Family Campout Over the weekend the family enjoyed a campout on the flats above Manuta. Those camping were, Joe and Wanda, Susan and Keen, Grant and Janice Johnson and three daughters, Dennis and Judy Nelson and family. They were joined for dinner by JoAnn and Deloy Neilsen. On Sunday afternoon 44 family members gathered at the Sebek home for a family party. Those in attendance were Joe and Wanda, Janice and Grant Johnson and family, Martella and Hazel Nelson and Mrs. Selma Atkinson all of Perry; Boyd and Beverly Nelson and family of Willard; JoAnn and Deloy Neilsen of Ogden; Russell and Louise Nelson and family of Riverdale; Dennis and Judy Nelson and family of Kaysville; Mrs. Zina White of Brigham City; Ronda Nelson of Salt Lake; Marion and Gloria Hyde and family and Tom and Carol Hurst and daughter of Logan. Former. Residents Mr. Mrs. and George Petersen of Sugar City, Idaho, former residents of Perry were in town Friday afternoon visiting with many of their friends. Mr. and Mrs. Deraid Waters enjoyed a nice vacation camping out in Left Hand Fork of Blacksmith. Bennlon of Brigham City has been selected as one of three outstanding teachers student by the department of business education at Utah State university. Mrs. Bennlon, who will teach at Box Elder High school this Fall, was recognized for superior ability and excellence in student teaching. Former DC Speak Woman WSC A Elder James F. Allred, recently returned from the LDS Gulf States mission, will speak Sunday, June 11, at 5 p.m. in the Brigham City Eighteenth ward. Bishop VerNon A. Bingham will conduct the sacrament meeting. Elder Allred, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Fullmer Allred, formerly of Brigham City who now reside in Salt Lake City, served in Alexandria, Winnfield and Lake Charles, La.; Jackson, Miss., and Millington, Tenn., during the period of his mission. He was a district and zone leader and assistant to the mission president. The Box Elder High school graduate plans to work this summer and continue his education at Brigham Young university in the fall. Graduate former Brigham Elder James F. They presently reside in Ogden. Mrs. Hansen has been Interim teaching at the new Dee Elementary school in Ogden for the past winter while completing her studies in evening classes. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth A. Northness, 251 North Sixth East. He was graduated from Box Elder High school in 1965 and attended the University of Utah before entering the dental program. Likes Outdeer Scenes Professing a liking for outdoor scenes, Mrs. Powers finds that painting not only helps to pass the time but is a rewarding endeavor. A widow, she describes her house as large, providing plenty family gatherings. Joining them for a meal or an overnight stay were Tom and Renee Bailey and family and John Henry and Donna Fay Bott all of Corinne; Max and Lois Nelson and family of Perry; Don and Myrna Ellis of Brigham City; and Clyde and Diane Dahul and daughter of Layton. Fishing, eating and visiting was enjoyed during their five-da- y stay. and members family BE weekend visiting with her parents. She had just returned from a delightful weeks vacation in Phoenix, Ariz. She returned home Tuesday morning to Provo to continue her work at BYU. Visiting with the Young family on Tuesday from Panorama City, Calif, was Mr. and Mrs. Dean Fowers. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dickey and family traveled to Rupert, Idaho on Sunday. They went to bring home their daughter Janine and Carols mother, Mrs. May Kent of Tremonton who had been at the home of Carols sister, Carma Kent for a few days. Mrs. Mary Deiter and Mrs. Geri Rhodes are both at home recovering from surgery. A speedy recovery is sent to both of them. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martella Nelson this past week along with Hazels mother, Mrs. Selma Atkinson, has been Hazels sister, Mrs. Violet Houser, of Filer, Idaho and an aunt, Mrs. Pearl Card, of Lethbridge, Canada. A nice visit was enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sebek have had a delightful visit with their daughter and son in law. Keen and Susan Lerch of Norfolk, Neb. They have been here the 18 paintings seascapes and floral paintings included for diversity. Mrs. Powers said although her formal experience In painting goes back only to INI, she had thought about It for many years. I just didnt have the time to get involved, she explains. She first studied with Lee Parkinson, Ogden artist, and since has also attended classes taught by Brigham City painter J. Lanell Foote. of space to pursue several activities. "I have one room in the basement for painting, one for sewing and one for flowers. I can go down there and begin painting and forget about time. Its been a llfesaver for me," she explains. Mrs. Powers has sold a couple of her smaller paintings but confesses she hasnt tried very hard to sell any. Some have been given to The Cache Valley Girls Rodeo association open spring horse show is scheduled Saturday, June 10, at the Logan Fair grounds. Starting time will be 9:30 a m.
