Barnes n 6e eity- - g-- The meeting will be held at the Kaysville opera house and .will be a meeting of the city council, but all citizens are requested to be present and take part in the discussion. At that time the question of the properly - installation of water meters, at the expense of water users, will be taken up and also the matter of additional water storage and Alteration. Kaysville has a generous water supply, but it must be admitted thaV the storage capacity of the system is not as large as it Should be. The friends of the meter systen point out the fact that under the present system of handling the water system that it is - 'impossible to keep constant pressure in the water mains and hold that only by the meter system can conditions be remedied : At this time the e is emptied almost every hight which is remarkable at this time of the year when there is no legitimate use for water in any considerable quantity during the night. On many occasions water users in the east part of the city are without water during the early hours of the days. There can be but one solution of the problem and that is, that taps are allowed to rebain open during the night for some reason or another. The above propositions are among those which will be discussed at the meeting and surely the people are interested in the meeting There should be a large attendance as every citizen, be he a water user or not, should be in attendance. tank-hous- -- -- RELIEF SOCIETY DINNER. The annual dinner of the Kaysville Relief Society was held at the opera house on Friday, the 17th instant For many years the society has given a dinner on this date, which was the date of thefounding of the organization by Joseph Smith, the prophet. On these occasions every resident of the ward who is in attendance (and most are) is served with a grand dinner. The dinner of .this year was in keeping with the dinners of the past and the attendance was very large notwithstanding many of the farmers were busy getting in their grain, tables extending full length of the auditorium were prepared pnd were filled almost to capacity the sec- ond time. After the dinner the afternoon was spent in listening to music and speeches and in having a good time socially. These dinners are ward reunions in the best sense and there are those who have never missed the gathering for many years. There was a dance in the evening which was a fitting climax for the day.. yr-Fo- COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING - . NUMBER 30 LAYTON AND FARMINGTON. UTAH, THURSDAY. The arguments presented showee that the debaters were familiar with the subject and presented facts and arguments well worth hearing. From an oratorical standpoint Tanner of Davis was in a class by himself and made an opening speech that is seldom equaled by a high school student. (Ie showed a wonderful vocabulary anc his enunciation and diction was" well nigh perfect. Barton also made a fine address and was well seconded by Cannon.
