Melba Pierce wdl celebrate her 80th birthday Oct. 12. She was born at home to Alonzo and Hazel Atwood. Oct 12. 1923. She was the third of 10 children. Melba married Rex B. Pierce on She and Rex Dec. 23. 1940. became the parents of six children. k A Daniel Simler and Desiree Martin Martin and Simler to many in Vernal Temple Darlene Holmes, Connie Holmes, Wayne Pierce, Rlaine Pierce and her brother Tommy Atwood. Her son Billy and husband Rex are deceased. Melba has 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. The Pierce family is having an open house for her friends and relatives to come for a visit from p.m. Oct. 11, to be held at the Ashley Valley Medical Center Conference Center, 400 North, across from the hospital. Desiree Dawn Martin and Daniel Bert Simler have chosen Oct. 11 to be married in the Venial EDS Temple. A reception w ill be held in their honor that evening from 6 to 8 pm. at the Glmes Chapel, 1510 West Highway 40. The bride is the daughter of Lee and Naomi Martin. She is a 1996 graduate of Uintah High School, a 1998 graduate of Ricks College, and a 2000 graduate of the University of Utah.
