Sawyer, charged with theft of a motor vehicle, a second degree felony. Defendant also charged with no drivers license, giving false information to a police officer, and possession of stolen property, all class B misdemeanors. Bail set at $5,000 and defend- - ant remanded to custody. Preliminary hearing set for April 6 for Curlis Billsie, charged with forcible sexual abuse, a second degree felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class B misdemeanor. Defendant released upon following conditions during pendency of his case. They are: defendant is to consume no alcohol, have no contact with the alleged victims, to work at becoming gainfully employed, to live on Douglas Mesa, to keep a low profile, and to break no law. If any of these conditions are violated, the defendants release will be revoked and he will be incarcerated. Mark A. Students must maintain a grade point average of 3.4 or better to earn this distinction. Roger is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Stash of Bluff He is a junior student at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, one of the Wests leading college preparatory boarding schools. Roger is also a member of the basketball team and the captain of the cross country team where he did well enough to be able to compete in the Junior Olympics. In addition Roger is the Junior Class and a member of the yearbook staff. vice-preside- nt Advertising Pays scatfOBd Bronco track update by David Shaw Despite competing with a partial team, the San Juan High Broncos placed fifth at the opening track meet of the 1989 season. Nine teams competed at the meet, which was held in Moab. Jimmy Ray placed first in two events: the with a time of 11.2 seconds, and the with a time of 23.2. A time of 45.9 won first place for Richard Kaer in the hurdles. San Juan took third in the 4X100 meter relay with a time of 48.3. Running were Sterling Black, Richard Kaer, Mike Bowring and Jim Ray. Harley Watkins, Richard Kaer, Mike Bowring and Kevin Orr captured fifth for San Juan in the medly relay. 100-met- er 200-met- er 300-met- The Spring Open horseshoe tournament which was scheduled on March 25 at Hurricane, Utah was transferred to St. George due to high winds and blowing dust in Hurricane. Conditions were much better in St. George although there was light, intermittent drizzle during the last few games. There were approximately 35 entries in Classes A, B, C, D, and Juniors. All games were 40 shoes each, cancellation. JJ Steffen took first place in Class A to win the tournament.
