Taylor says he came to Monticello because he is impressed with the high caliber of the teaching staff, the way the school uses computer and music specialists, the achievement level of the students, and the San Juan School District philosophy which is based on the belief that every child has the ability to learn. A native of Riverside, California, Taylor moved to Monticello from Richfield, Utah where he was a teacher and assistant principal at Ashman Elementary School. Also, he served as chairman of the district social studies committee and helped rewrite the state core curriculum in math and social studies. Whitney Redd of Monticello are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Jennifer Kaye and Mr. C. Callis Ogles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Ogles of Brigham City, Utah. Jennifer and Callis will exchange wedding vows on September 9 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. An open house at the A. They will be further honored at an open house on September 23 at the LDS Stake Center in Brigham y to the Philadelphia, Pennsyl- vania Spanish-speakin- g Mis- sion, and is now a student at Brigham Young University majoring in psychology. His mother is the former Valgene Washburn of Blanding. Following a honeymoon in California, the couple will make their home in Orem. While Callis completes his degree at BYU, Jennifer will be doing free-lanc- e illustration and tutoring private students in art. An Alumni Dance Concert on September 10 at the College of Eastern Utah in Price will feature numbers choreographed by long-tim- e CEU dance instructur Joy Peterson. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Geary Theatre on the CEU campus. There is a small admission charge. Peterson, who retired from her teaching and coaching position in 1987, will choreograph an opening set and the evenings finale utilizing the collective talents of several of her former students, many of whom are now professional dance instructors.
