Show COMPLETE TEXT OF PROPOSITION NO. 5 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WILDLIFE INITIATIVE NUMBERS A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE LEGISLATURE PROPOSING TO AMEND THE UTAH CONSTITUTION; PROVIDING THAT ANY VOTER INITIATIVE REGARDING THE TAKING OF WILDLIFE SHALL BE ADOPTED UPON APPROVAL OF OF THOSE VOTING; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE initiate any desired legislation and cause the same to be submitted to a vote of the people for approval or rejection, or may require any law passed by the Legislature (except those laws passed by a ds vote of the members elected to each house of the Legislature) to be submitted to the voters of the State before such law shall take effect. Legislation initiated to allow, limit, or prohibit the taking of wildlife or the season for or method of taking wildlife shall be adopted upon approval of ds of those two-thir- TWO-THIR- DATE. This resolution to change the Utah Constitution proposes two-thir- as voting. follows: AMENDS: ARTICLE VI, SECTION The legal voters or such fractional part thereof as may be provided by law, of any legal subdivision of the State, under such conditions and in such manner and within such time as may be provided by law, may initiate any desired legislation and cause the same to be submitted to a vote of the people of said legal subdivision for approval or rejection, or may require any law or ordinance passed by the law making body of said legal subdivision to be submitted to the voters thereof before such law or ordinance shall take effect. 1 it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, all members elected to each of the two houses voting Re two-thir- ds in of favor thereof: Section 1. It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution Article VI, Section 1, to read: Article VI, Section 1. People. Power vested in Senate, House and Section 2. Submittal to electors. The lieutenant governor is directed to submit this proposed amendment to the electors of the state of Utah at the next general election in the manner provided bv law.
