The Oliveto store opened in 1935 in the same building it now occupies. The family organization began with Louis and Elena and their children, Sam, Antoinette, Rose, Dominic, Jennie, Ange and Helen. Partners still working at the enterprise are Dominic, Helen 0. Smith, Jennie 0. Felice and Rose 0. Craven. There were only two furniture stores in Price in those early days, Oliveto Furniture and Dixon Taylor land was a tradition that began in 1940 and continued until about 15 years ago, when competition made it unreasonable to continue. Its not unusual for past customers to stop by the store, just to see ifthe Olivetos are still in business. They usually say they still have furniture purchased years ago, and it is still in excellent condition. The company is known for its fine home furnishings. Quality merchandise purchased by customers years ago are still like new today. The Olivetos have always offered all their customers free delivery and personal service.
