On Tuesday, the Region 7 Concert Band Competition will be held at Emery High. Good luck to our band! The baseball and softball teams will be playing at home against Union on Wednesday. The varsity teams will play at 3 p.m., and the JV will play at 5 p.m. The drill team will conclude its season this Thursday by performing all of their rou- tines in a spring show. It begins at 7 p.m. The cheerleaders and the social dance classes will also perform. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children. After a ay weekend, the baseball team will play another game on Tuesday, April 13 against Carbon. The team will travel to Price for this game. On Wednesday, April 14, Emery Highs Sterling Scholars will compete at San Juan. At this competition, students from 10 schools will be interviewed and judged on their portfolios. One Sterling Scholar will be chosen from each area. On Friday, April 16, the baseball and softball teams will play again at home against Lehi. Some of Emerys drama students will be competing in the state drama competition on Friday. To qualify for state, a person or group had to receive straight superior ratings at region. Congratulations luck. and good Cougar corner ty Vanessa Ramos CVJHUS reporter On March 26, the United were on there way to Salt Lake City to compete in Stu-dentsFH- A They had workshops, meetings and even a talent show for us to attend. On the 27th the students were in competition for most of the day. They told us the winners of all the many different projects. Canyon members of the Canyon View View United StudentsFHA Junior High United Students took home eight gold medals FHA attended the competition and two silver medals. Anna with 3,000 other members, all Emfield, Stephanie Cassut and state competition. Twenty from different schools. Everyone stayed in the Mariott Karen Powell took home gold medals in the all star chapter division; Melanie Holdaway, Holly Beesly and Marcy Mann Congratulations. Gillian Sherman and Delaina Oveson took home silver medals for the volunteer action division. First place winners will be able to compete in nationals which will be held in Anahiem, Calif. The United StudentsFHA are holding a lance for a fund raiser. It will be held at Canyon View on Friday, April 2, from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Other schools are invited. The United StudentsFHA also are going to attend the Life Skills Conference in Salt Lake City later this month. Twelve people have been chosen from our chapter to go the the conference. We have chosen these people by how much effort and time they have put into our chapter to make it better. The people we have chosen will also be in the United Students for the 93-9-4 school year. Those students are: Amber Grimm, Vanessa Ramos, tal Cox, Jessica Hansen, CrysChristy Jo Anselmo, Amber Stream, Shaffryn Schade, Stephanie Cassut, April Nielson, Anna Emfield and Melanie Holdaway. The Forest Service is currently conducting a joint environmental analysis with the Bureau of Land Management to determine if Genwals application should be approved.
