CASTLE DALE This selections for years Sterling Regarding community service, Jenny has organized a benefit dance and has completed 100 hours of community service a couple of years ago. She plans to attend Snow College for two years and then transfer to Utah State where she will major in English and work toward a bachelors degree. Scholars at Emery High School include a variety of talented, scholastic-minde- d seniors who are currently in the midst of preparing for regional competion early next year. After going over applications in departmental meetings, department chairmen recently announced the following and during his membership has participated in a variety of community service projects such as servicing city of 4-- and assisting equipment senior citizens with automotive problems. He has helped with FFA projects such as welding panels for the stock show barn. Kristel Anderson SOW BELLY Regarding her debate drama category, Kristel has participated in ninth grade drama, taught debate, served as an assistant director and placed in region competition. She also arranged for a prog- - daughter of Daniel and Susan Coles of Cleveland. She has a variety of activities to go with her general scholarship category including drill team, choir, debate, math team, Physics Club, madrigals, Honor Society and Ski Club. She is presently on the seminary council and serves as president for the Ski Club and madrigals. Also, Michelle has participated at Engineering Week at Utah State, Girls State at SUSC, the State Solo and Ensemble Festival, community theater, honor choir and several math contests. In her church and community, Michelle has served as church class president and has been involved with a town beautification project as well as a food for the needy program. She plans to attend BYU after high school graduation or preand major in dentistry. Melinda Durr ant Melinda is the daughter of Claron and Vicky Durr ant of Huntington. She is a member of French Club and has taken French for two years which should be a great benefit as the foreign language representative. She is involved in chorus, madrigals, all-stat- choir and the e Academic Decathalon team. She is currently president of the French Club. Outside of school, Melinda is a member of the Laurel presidency in her church and has participated in community theater. She plans to attend college after high school and is considering a major in music, education or special educations. She is also thinking about an LDS mission. Serendipity rt7 BOOKS Debbie, the schools representative in language arts, is the daughter of of and Frandsen Lorraine Jay Castle Dale. She has been active in drill team and is currently a varsity cheerleader. She is yearbook editor and a member of the Photography Club and FBLA where she serves as parliamentarian. She has served as special correspondent for the Emery County Progress and has been involved in several Language Arts Department public relations programs. She has entered several essay contests and has written copy for the schools yearbook for the last two years. In church, Debbie has served as youth secretary, Laurel president, and has been a leader. She has been a participant in several ld H Southeastern Utah Junior Livestock shows. After graduation, Debbie plans to attend CEU and then further her education at USU or SUU as a student of occupational accounting and securities. OFF Boxed Book Sets New 1991 Calendar Jenny Davis OFF Utah 1991 Calendars Jenny Davis is the daughter of Don and Lorna Davis of Orangeville. She is a member of the Emery High Band, Honor Society, French y Club, team, math team and Peer Helpers. In band, she serves as the reporter and is the French Club vice president. She was a city commissioner at Girls State. In her field of music, Jenny has been in concert band for seven years, pep band for three years, marching band for four years and has played piano for nine years. She has musiearned her third-clas- s cianship award and is currently working on her second-clas- s award. She is using her piano skills to accompany the community theater. He is currently student body president and has been in FFA for four years, Peer Helpers for two years, and has held memberships in the Physics Club, FBLA, FHA and math team. He is the FFA chapter secretary. In his category of vocational education, Evan has taken vocational agriculture I, II, III and IV, has had two years of drafting and has trained in typing and career education. She plans to become a commercial artist. ld Happy Birthday holidays She Kristel is the daughter of Bryant and Alta Anderson of Castle Dale. She has been involved in a number of school activities including band, Peer Helpers, FHA, French Club, Math Club, debate, drama, cross country, National Honor Society and is presently a member of the Academic Decathlon team. She has taken or is currenly taking several college classes, including AP English, AP European history, Shakespeare and short story. While in high school, Kristel has been an FIIA officer, assistant director to a school play, novice debate teacher, reporter for the French Club, and she has held various church positions. t, in the county fair on two occasions and won best of show each time as well as several blue ribbons. She has also entered work in the state fair. She has done window paintings for businesses during 10-ye- ar Apryll Jorgensen The daughter of Don and MaryAnn Jorgensen of Castle Dale, Apryll currently serves as student body reporterhistorian at Emery. She has been a class officer and a member of the Spardet-te- s as well as band, choir, madrigals, FHA and math team. As a representative of home economics, Apryll has been state FHA peer educator, a state FHA officer, FHA star event winner for two years, outstanding home economics student for three years, and has won numerous state and national awards in FHA and 4-- Her community service includes participating on the Teen Council, presentation of an eating disorders 4-- H workshop, has donated quilts to the shelter for the abused, helped to set up voting booths and has volunteered services to mental health. She has been a member of the church choir as accompaniest, served as ward pianist and organist and has taught dancing in the Strikette Dance Studio. She plans to attend CEU after graduating from Emery High. (Continued on Page 9 A) Tonya Israelsen Tonya Israelsen, 17, is the daughter of Lorin and Alice Israelsen of Castle Dale. She is representing Emery in the visual arts category. At Emery she has been involved in Peer Helpers, FHA and FBLA She has served as art director in several of the schools plays. Katherine Diamond Is a young lady who enjoys school ana studying. After she graduates from high school, she plans to attend college to prepare for a career as a CPA. Katherine has a lot in interests that keep her busy. She likes to sew. crochet, knit and read and she really enjoys going fishing. One of her faVorite activities is getting involved in drama. She will be taking part in the next school play. Katherine is involved in church activities and projects and has been a leader in her Laurel group. During the summer she is employed by the 'Reynolds Day Care Center In Payson. Katherine is thedaughterof Mr. &Mrs. Richard Diamond of Huntington. Because of his desire to accomplish and for the extra effort he has exerted to try to do his bestat Emery High this year, Ralph Every was unanimously voted Student of the Week by the faculty. Ralph is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Every of Elmo. He Is Interested in hunting, fishing, jogging and running. He likes to hunt for fossils and arrowheads. He would like to become a paleontologist Ralph has been a member of the high school track team and just finished- a successful season in cross country competition. He is now trying out for the wrestling squad. When Ralph Isn't busy with other activities, he can be found enjoying a good book. He is an avid reader. Ralph also likes to spend time out on the desert. After graduating, Ralph plans to go to college. He Is thinking about going to CEU and possibly SUSC.
