Knox has entered basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, .. S.C. During the eight weeks of training, the soldier will study the Army mission and will receive instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, Army history and traditions, and special training in human relations. Knox is the son of Ruth L. and Richard G. Knox of Provo. The private is a 1997 grad- uate of Orem High School, Utah. Army National Guard Pvt. Holly J. Chilcott has entered basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Chilcott is the daughter of Candace R. Moore of Orem and Jerry R. Chilcott of Ventura, Calif. She is a 1996 graduate of Mountain View High School, Orem. Quinn J. Overton, 18, son of Patrena and Jeffrey Overton of Provo, has enlisted in the U.S. Army for five years according to Sgt. 1st Class Marko J. Hakama of the Provo Recruiting Station. OVerton entered through the Army's Delayed Entry Program. Overton will attend basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C, and advanced individual training at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. His specialty will be as a Counterintelligence Assistant. He is a 1999 graduate of Orem High School. duct. Hartgrove joins 55,000 men and women who will enter the Navy this year from all over the country. Men and women train together from their first day in the Navy just as they do aboard ships and at shore commands around the world. To reinforce the team concept, Hartgrove and other recruits also were trained in preventing sexual harassment and ensuring equal opportunity. Even as the naval gets smaller over the next few years, highly motivated young people like Hartgrove are still finding an opportunity to, improve their knowledge and education as they become part of the most highly technical naval force in history. This year alone the navy will have more than 57,000 job openings and opportunities which include guaranteed training. He is a 1998 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. Navy Seaman Recruit Jedediah C of William L. Hartgrove, son and Elizabeth L Hartgrove of Pleasant Grove, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, 111. proDuring the gram, Hartgrove completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, fire fighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. Eric L. Hill has arrived at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md., to complete the small armsartillery repairer advanced individual training (AIT).
