Pair charged with murder SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Two teen-aggang members could face the death penalty for allegedly shooting one acquain-tanc- e e dead and wounding another. Daniel Marion Schroyer Jr. and Jordhan Gary Swank, both 18, were each charged Friday in 3rd District Court with felony aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder. They are accused of shooting Edwin R. Benzon, 21, in the head and wounding Thomas G. Majnik, 21, in the back. Both defendants will face the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder. They were arrested Wednesday and are being held without bail at the Salt Lake County Jail. Police said Schroyer, apparently a transient, has an extensive criminal history with more than 20 juvenile arrests and that both defendants are documented gang members. The suspects were in the rear seat of Majnik's car near Murray Park Tuesday when Schroyer pulled out a .380 semiautomatic handgun and shot Benzon in the back of his head, police said. They were sealed in the Provo LDS Temple on February 17, 1993, and recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary together. Throughout her life, Carolyn dedicated her time and energy to the service of others. She held many callings in the LDS Church, including Women's Young President, Compassionate Service Leader and Visiting Teacher. She often used her talents in sewing, cooking and listening to others. She especially loved shopping and finding a "bargain". She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, riding four wheelers and la Dens W. and great woman passed away on Sept. 16, 1999, after a coura geous struggle with a long illness. LaDene Wyler Ulsen was a loving and friend to all who knew her. She passed away peacefully at I! her home in Payson, Utah, with her beloved husband, Robert Olsen, by her side. They have been constant companions for over 50 years. They were married on April 5, 1946, and were later sealed eter nally in the Provo LDS temple. LaDene was the oldest daughter of William and Melba Wyler, born on January 3, 1927. Her legacy includes three daughters; Peggy (Val) Middleton of Vernal, Janiel (Larry) Averett of Springville, and Annette Olsen (Delbert Gilley) of Urie, Wyo., as well as one son, Thomas (Lori) Olsen of South Ogden. She is also survived by 13 grandchiland three dren, 11 younger siblings; William Wyler of American Fork, Lois June Gray of Beaver and Gienda Cloward of Rooseveit. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Kerrie Nichols. LaDene embraced life and her great joys included gardening, cooking, sewing and needlework, golfing, fishing, travel, bridge club and anything to do with her family. Her children, children and grandwere her greatest pride and pleasure. Her husband was her best friend and sweetheart. We, her children, wish to express to our father our deepest love and gratitude for his devotion to and care of our mother. Services will be Monday, September 20, 1999, 11 a.m., in the Mtn. Barbara Clara Brown Carrell, age 71, of Lebi, Utah, rejoined her sweet heart in heaven on Friday, September 17, 1999, in Lehi, Utah, due to complications incident to lupus. She was born July 5, 1928, in American Fork, Utah, to Norvin Wilken and LuPriel Goates Brown. On April 22, 1949, Barbara married Keith LaNoal Carrell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and settled in Orem, Utah. They were blessed with six children. Her life was centered around her family. She was a loving wife, mother and sister. She was a friend to everyone she met. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ that she loved to share with others. She loved to serve others and magnified every calling she received. She was an artist and loved to paint. She also loved music, handwork, and nature. She graduated from American Fork High School. Later she earned bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Brigham Young University, enabling her to fulfill a lifelong dream to become a teacher. She taught first grade in Alpine School District for 14 years, touching the lives of many. She is survived by her children, Ann (Larry) Grundell, Newark, Calif; North Susan Dewey, (David) Calif.; Mike (Debbie) Hollywood, Carrell, Layton; Steve (Claudia) Janice Carrell, Lehi; Carrell, Diane (Leo) M.; Independence, Ericksen, Nephi. She is also survived by 15 of her 16 grandchildren; two one brother, Joseph (Joyce) Brown, Denver, Colo.; and one sister, Loraine (Bob) Peterson, Astoria, Ore. Her talents included oil painting, which she learned while in her early 80s; crocheting, tatting, and embroidery. She was a wonderful cook and often taught others how to make delicious sweet rolls. She was an avid reader was her family. She will always be remembered with love and admiration.
