Children went to the Bajamin Central School, as many of their parents and even grandparents had done since about 1903. On Sunday people went to church in a building dedicated in 1906. One could boy gas at Center Service Station and food at Parkinson's Store. Sagar Beet As folks roamed the town, patches of sugar beets were everywhere among the alfalfa, seed corn and grains. Most of the ground was used for agriculture and had been passed from parent to child. When an occasional parcel of land was offered for sale, it was usually purchased by a local fanner or rancher. Some exceptions were noted when land speculators purchased available property. An acre of property sold for about six hundred dollars at which price a farmer could raise agricultural commodities and pay for the property within a reasonable length of time. Changes One decade has brought changes. The Benjamin Central School was torn down and in its place is a baD park and play f$r f j ground The property is still owned by the Nebo School District and some community members expect a new school to be built within the next decade. The old church was replaced in the earty 1970s with a new one which is now home for two wards, already it has a new addition completed in 1973.
