It needn't be if you'll break the tired sandwich habit and give this meal the car and imagination you do dinner. Whether it's lunches for youngsters in school, for a man on the job, or your own career girl concern, a small bit of extra effort goes a long way. Very hot or very cold foods transport well in today's thermal units. Soups, stews, drinks stay hot. Desserts, salads chili and drinks remain cold. Also helpful are th myriad of plastic containers with lids in which canned fruits, cottage cheesy pie, cake, fried chicken, meat slices, culxl of cheese and a dozen other items will all travel well. Many items, if frozen first, wiH be exactly right for eating by lunchtime and you don't have to worry about them not carrying safely. Instead of a cupcake, tuck in a small package of peanuts (high in protein). Try the thinnest of dill pickle slices in a cheese sandwich. Did you know tnat bits of ham in scrambled eggs are relished by kids, even when cold? And some prefer cold toast to plain bread. Crisp lettuce, a good dressing (don't scrimp here!) bread without crusts, and airtight plastic wrap are all musts.
