Warner and Jared Lloyd DAILY Local .f HERALD At Timpview High School they cut the cake and raised their glasses for a toast to celebrate the signing of three lineman off Timpview's state championship team to BYU on Wednesday. Here's to a successful college career. The celebration in the school's commons area at noon drew quite a crowd as students waited in line while Houston Reynolds (63, 295), Famika Anae (&, 270) and Eathyn Manumaleuna (6-280) cut cake and refilled cups with sparkling apple cider. "I wish them all the luck. They deserve it. They worked hard. They definitely had a big impact on us winning the championship," said Timpview coach Louis Wong. "It will leave a big hole on the offense. They'll be missed, but we feel like we have good people that will be back next year that hopefully can take their places." No doubt the other coaches in the 4A ranks would also like to join Timpview in a toast. Congratulations and good riddance. The trio played a pivotal role in Timpview's championship run on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball and are now prepared to do the same thing for BYU. "There's no question they're three big, strong, athletic guys that can play," said BYU assistant head coach Lance Reynolds, who is Houston's father. "We think they're real solid players with great futures ahead of them. All three have really good feet. They're really athletic. We see a great future ahead of them." All three of them signed letters of intent, but it appears as though the Cougars might get just one of the three for next season. Manumaleuna, who is projected to play defense (likely nose tackle), will join the Cougars for next season, but Reynolds and Anae are both planning observing a LDS church mission before joining the team. Houston said he's been tempted to stay and play with his older brothers Dallas and Matt (who returns from his mission in May), but decided it would be best for athletes that signed letters of intent (by school) PROVO LEW Girls Soccer Football Austin Alder (Utah State) Funaki Asisi (Utah State) Nicole Cardon (Utah) LONE PEAK Weston Samani (Snow Football lee) Everett (Southern Nolan Samani (Snow College) Utah) '7 Easton Peterson (Southern i 1 J Courtesy photo From left to right Timpview's Eathyn Manumaleuna, Houston Reynolds and Famika Anae celebrate signing with BYU.
