Show LD.S. SEMINARY GRADUATION TO BE THIS EVENING The sixth annual commencement exercises of Copperton LDS Seminary Sem-inary will be held at the West Jordan Jor-dan Stake House in West Jordan tonight (Friday) at 8 p.m. Theme of the program is "Come, Follow Mo". Ninety-seven church history students are to graduate with many of them receiving special recognition recog-nition for having read the Book of Mormon during the course of study. stu-dy. The program arranged and to be presented is as follows: Prelude music and processional, Lauritz Petersen; song "Come Unto Jesus," congregation; invocation, Linda Johnson; welcome, - Boyd Nielsen; student speaker: "Come, Follow Me," Jean Robison; student peaker: "My Future", Gary Phelps; piano duet "The Lord's Prayer", Vicky Merrill, Earlene Poor; introduction of guest speaker, speak-er, La Mar C. Berrett; graduation speaker, Milton R. Hunter, a member mem-ber of the First Council of Seventy of the Church of Latter-day Saints; vocal quartet, "I'll Walk With God", Clarine Purry, Phyllis Erick-son, Erick-son, ColJeen "Nielsen, Maxine Ernest Ern-est with MaralynSchmidt accompanist; accom-panist; presentation of graduates, Mr. Berrett; acceptance of graduates, gradu-ates, awarding of diplomas and a-wards, a-wards, C. Elmo Turner; class gift presentation, Max Lloyd; class song: "Come, Follow Me", graduating gradu-ating class, reader-Linda Wixom; benediction, Ronald Drake, and postlude music, Lauritz Petersen. Lynno Johnston ie chorister and Maralyn Schmidt and Lauritz Petersen Pe-tersen are organists. Awards to be presented include BYU scholarship award, Copperton Seminary award, special achievement achieve-ment award and Craham award. The Seminary faculty is LaMar C. Berrett, principal; Ralph Crystal and Kent Dunford. On the Seminary Board of Education Edu-cation are: Howard W. Barben, C. Elmo Turner, Leonard C. Beck-stead Beck-stead and Mr. Berrett. Comprising the graduation committee com-mittee are: Boyd Nielsen, chairman; chair-man; Max Lloyd, class gift; Flora Freeman, invitations; Anne Stringham, String-ham, flowers; Linda Myers and Floyd, James, programs. Of the 97 Seminary graduate, ten are from the Bingham Canyon area. They are: Bingham Dora M. Dominguez, Donna Kay Lipsey, Julie Ann Sanchez, Paul E. Wiech-man; Wiech-man; Copperton Maynard John Berg, Peggy J. Robison, Dennis E. Scroggin; Lark Virginia Lee Neilsen, Glenda J. Peterson and Ted W. Sandstrom. |
