'! 1 Robert Miller officiating. ! DARWIN J EINER MARTIN ANDERSON Darwin Jorgenson Anderson, 66, of Elwood, died Monday, March 28, 1977, at his home of a heart attack. Mr. Anderson was born Sept. 21, 1910, in Bear River City, a son of Clarence and Martha Jorgenson Anderson. He was married to Rhea Nielsen on June 15, 1938, in Malad, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sept. 4, 1941. He was reared and educated in Bear River City and moved to Elwood in 1938. He was a past member of the Elwood Town Board. He was an elder in the Elwood LDS Ward, and had served as a home teacher. He was a past member of the Troop committee, Boy Scouts of America, and had been a member of the Elwood Board building fund committee. He was a farmer and dairyman. Surviving are his widow of Elwood, one son and one daughter, David R. Anderson, Logan; Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Stimpson, Roy and four grandchildren. ' Also surviving are five brothers and two sisters, Mrs. E. F. (Elva) Jackley, Sun City, Ariz.; Merlin Anderson, Brigham City; Blaine Anderson, Dwight Anderson, Mrs. Ila Anderson, all of Bear River City; Arlowe Anderson, Elwood; Monte R. Anderson, Ogden. Friends call may at PEDERSEN Einer Martin Pedersen, 71, formof Thatcher-Penroserly of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died March 29, 1977, of heart failure at the McKay-De- e hospital in Ogden. He was born May 27, 1905, n to Peder and Marianne Pedersen. He married Sarah Saph-roni- a Earl June 17, 1925, in the Logan LDS Temple. He lived in Idaho Falls before coming to Thatcher in Sor-ense- 1974. He was active in the LDS Church, holding many positions and was a High Priest. He had worked as a cleaner and tailor. Surviving are his widow of Thatcher-Penros2 sons and 2 daughters: Einer E. Pedersen, Las Vegas, Peder D. Pedersen, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Gordon (Jo) Lasley, , Thatcher-Penrose- Richard (Ruth) Survivors also include brothers and sisters: Eddie Pedersen, and Mrs. Ray (Betty Lou) Rhoads, Idaho n Col-se- serving an LDS Mission to N. Texas; Mrs. Norman (Maurine) Bates, Hawaii and Mrs. Grace Frost, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 1, 1977 at 10 a.m. in the Ward with Bp. J. Thatcher-Pen- rose Dell Petersen conducting. Further services and burial will be in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Rogers Mortuary in Tremon-to- n Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Tremonton-Rivervie- Cemetery. GERALD ALLEN ASTLE Gerald Allen Astle, son of Theodore Carlos and Sandy Faye Nelson Astle, was still born March 23, 1977 in the Brigham Community Hospital. Survivors include the father, mother and the follow- -' ing: Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Astle and David, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Nelson and Melanie, Mike and Sheila Welch, Mrs. Marjorie E. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brewer. Graveside services were conducted Friday, March 25, 1977 in the Garland City Cemetery with Bishop Andrew Funk conducting. ?! iv. A T i'' . ;i J ANDREW ALLEN s4 .y Andrew Herold Allen, 77, of 2366 Orchard, died Saturday, March 26, 1977, at the Weber Memorial 'Hospital in Roy after a lingering illness. Mr. Allen was born Feb. 4, 1900, in Tropic, Utah, a son of John Millard and Isadora Losse Allen. He was married to Mary Anna Barnhurst on Aug. 21, 1920, in Junction, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a retired farmer and stockman. He was an elder in the LDS Church and had served as a ' home teacher. Surviving are his widow of Ogden; one son and six daughters, James H. Allen, Mrs. Edward (Isadora) Fet-zeboth of Ogden; Mrs. r, Farrel (Mary) Norman, Basin City, Wash.; Mrs. Wallace (Lillie) Powell, FRED WEISER Fred Weiser, 83, of died March 29, 1977, in the Bear River Valley Hospital of a stroke. He was born Dec. 10, 1893, in Steinfurth, Germany to Fredrick William and Kath-arin- a Leonhardt Weiser. He came to Tremonton in 1906 where he was a farmer. He was a member of the Apastolic Christian Church. Survivors include one sister Miss Sophie Weiser, Tremonton; nieces and nephews, Arthur Eggli, Fred Eggli and Mrs. Gerald (Gladys) Thomas all of Tremonton; Mrs. Rudy (Lidia) A, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Gilbert (Orvella) Butts, Elko, Nev.; Mrs. Jay (Ruby) Diderick-sen- , Thatcher, Utah; Mrs. Eugene (Elva) Owens, Clearfield; 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Louisa Workman, Laverkin, Utah; Mrs. Zelpha Bodily, Vernal, Utah; r one and three Ellis Allen, Mrs. Jane Sudweeks, both of Tropic, Utah; Mrs. Odessa Sevy, Roy; Mrs. Guy (Elba) Schow, Panguitch, Utah. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the Thatcher-PenrosLDS Ward Chapel with Bishop J. Dell Peterson officiating. Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. LaRon Udy and Fred Coombs joined Attorney and Mrs. Arden Coombs of Ogden for a family dinner party at the Lion's Den. The occasion was the tenth wedding anniversary of Attorney and Mrs. Coombs. Spending Friday and Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. ' Gerry Garn and family in Idaho Falls were Mr. and Mrs. Karl King and family. Miss Jolene Rudd entertained at a pink and blue shower at her home last Saturday for her friend, Mrs. Cindy Newman, of Bothwell. Twelve friends spent the evening tying a baby quilt for the mother-to-be- . Light refreshments were served. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pulver and family Thursday evening were Mrs. Dennis Yeates and family of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Richards spent last weekend in Southern Utah. They visited Mr, and Mrs. Nuel (Dorothy Richards) Cardon in Bloom-ingtonear St. George. They visited Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. They went especially to attend a testimonial in the morning honoring Elder Joe Thompson who had just returned from ful- filling an LDS Mission in Washington State where he was a missionary companion of Elder Jim Richards. Friday Elder Thompson was visiting relatives and friends in the Logan area and also visited at the Rex Richards home. Visiting Mrs. Alene Sutherland Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Kent Sutherland and family of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hess and daughter, Elon, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gardner and daughters, Teri and Darcie, of Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Udy and daughters, Vonna, Diane and Loi Ann of Plymouth attended the performance of "Sweet Adeline" featuring the Evans Quartet as special guests held in the Eisenhower High School in Salt Lake City Friday evening. They enjoyed dinner at a downtown restaurant in Roy. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Earl hosted a dinner party at the Grandview Restaurant in Logan, honoring Patriarch and Mrs. Leo Earl. The occasion was Mrs. Leo Earl's 86th birthday ann- iversary. Mr. and Mrs. Bart Flint, accompanied by Mr. and LiL. m Mr. and Mrs. Verl Ander- son have returned after Sunday Anchorage, Alaska. Fred Coombs is spending this week in Salinas, Calif, visiting his brother-in-laand sister, Mr. and Mrs. Milton (Nellie) Fife. Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling were in Salt Lake City Thursday to visit Mrs. Edith Welling, Wendell Welling and Mrs. LaRue White who were all receiving medical care in the LDS Hospital. Wendell Welling returned home Saturday after receiving care in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. He is reported to be recovering and nicely. His daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Scott (Gloria) Holmgren and family of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Welling. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. John McClellan and family visited Mrs. Edith Welling in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City and report she is getting along nicely. They also visited Mrs. McClellan's aunt, Mrs. Elise Gangien who is recuperating at the LDS Hospital. Spending Saturday in Ogden were Mrs. Teri Gam and Mrs. Carol Ann Hess. Mr. and Mrz Merlyn King had the Howard Oyler families in Sunday evening for their family home evening. Mr. and Mrs. Norman of Spanish Fork spent Saturday night and Sunday with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mau-ghaa ' Bos-wel- Little children, Brodie and Ashley and Rex Peterson, Tremonton, were Sunday and afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eph Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Sor-- ' ensen attended a Christensen family party Saturday evening at Maddox in which 20 participated. Rusty Rhodes went skiing on Beaver Mountain with friends. The Cub Scouts under the direction of Carma Goodey held a kite derby on the park lawn Saturday. Refreshments were enjoyed and prizes were awarded for the highest flying kites. Kari Jo was the- name chosen by Mr. and Mrs. Kraig Page for their little daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spackman chose to name their son Nathan Paul. The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Jensen will be called Dottie Ann. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Norr named their little son Justin C. Brenda Sue Spackman was confirmed by her father, Paul, and Arnold Kraus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kraus, was also confirmed. Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Blackham flew to California to spend a week visiting family and friends. They visited with Col. and Mrs. Kent Blackham and family and were also able to spend some time with Bill Norr, who is serving Mission time in the Hay ward area. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Garn entertained at a family dinner party at their home Monday honoring Lynn's mother, Mrs. Darvel Garn who was observing her birthday. Other guests were Darvel Garn, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Archibald and two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Garn of Fielding and Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Lefler of Riverdale. Leon Grover and Voylet Grover attended a wedding reception for Mrs. Grover's niece, Linda Tuck, who became the bride of Grant McCallister in rites performed in the Salt Lake Temple Friday morning. Following the reception, Leon and Mrs. Grover attended a dinner party at the home of Ed and LaRee Fowler in Granger.
