The people are warm and friendly and the town is nice and clean. does seem to Honeyville have one problem though! At least it is a problem as far as am concerned. Honeyville is overrun with dogs. Now don't get me wrong, I adore dogs. Il is just that I don't d enjoy all the friends that seem to be drawn to our yard. We don't have a dog, we don't need 1 I ! four-legge- one. In "4mm Bear River High forensic team members put the Northern Utah school back on the forensic map recently with their best showing at the state forensic meet in many years. The Bears earned ten top ratings at the forensic meet held this past weekend at Brigham Young University. Bryan Buchanan was one of four state high school students who finished first in "student congress" which tests an individual's skills at parliamentary procedure organization and speaking. Buchanan was also among three Bear River students who achieved superior rat- ings. Susan Petersen and Mark Butler earned their ratings in oratory speaking on the subjects of "The neglect of the fine arts" and "Life After Death" respectively. Miss Petersen finished in the top six in competition. Five Bear River students Bundle Of Babies Given Names It seems that Sunday was the day for having babies blessed. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Kotter and. son, Theron, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kotter and family and Mrs. Harry Lucus and family all drove down to Nephi Sunday to see the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Winn blessed. Mrs. Alan White and children of Upalca were also present for the occasion. The baby was given the name of Ben Preston Winn. The Louis Douglases had a house full of company for dinner on Sunday after their grandchild was blessed. The baby was given the name of Jeffery Fred Douglas. The proud parents are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Douglas. Out of town guests who were here for the event were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pett and family and Mr. and Mrs.. Lelloy Johnson' and family, both of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs.' Mont Andreason, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis, Mrs. Steve Holmgren and Mrs. Brad Havvkes and their children. Mim Johnson and son, Allan, were also present. Peg and Sam Stine attended fast meeting in Tremont-toSunday to see their grandson blessed. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Roberts. He was given the name of Coldy Lee Roberts. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Soren-se- n and family visited in Rexburg, Idaho Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Galovich. Blodwin Sorensen accompanied them. LaVada Bench was taken suddenly ill last week and rushed back to the Salt Lake hospital. Her condition is quite serious. We surely hope she's feeling better soon. Eva Bair returned home h Saturday after about a in Seattle. Kathy Ririe earned a "good" rating in women's extemp. p; Forensic instructor Burr Dallof said the performance of the team is the best for Bear River in state action since the days of instructor Milton Johnson. In extemp speaking, participants are given a topic from national or international events and allowed one-hahour to prepare a four-t- o speech. In impromptu competition, participants are given a subject and allowed only one minute to prepare. Mr. Vern Hafner of Sparks, Nev. was a weekend guest of the Earl Woods. Mrs. Mariner Munk is spending this week in Rex,--; burg as the guest of her J daughter, Valerie. The highlight of the afternoon was when Mr. Larsen was able to meet the newest arrival in the family. brother-in-lasaid he gets his name in the paper very seldom and then I had to goof when he did. We're still friends, so guess it was- n't too Serious. The Scouts held their annual banquet Tuesday evening with their parents as honored guests. Many of the scouts received badges for their work for the past year. Another son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Larsen, Kaysville, were visiting in California and not able to be with the family for this day. Mr. Larsen has lived alone since his wife died nine years ago. He still drives his car and is seen, driving to town and back home when the weather is good. He has six sons and daughters, twenty-thre- e grandchildren, twenty-tw- o great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild.
