The additional revenue is needed to meet the city's share of the cost of upgrading the sewer treatment plant. The raise was postponed for two reasons. City decided they must publish an ordinance first to make the increase .legal. That has not been done. And council members also have a wait and see attitude given the present contention between Tremonton and Garland, a community which also uses the plant. That contention could come to a head this afternoon. Representatives of both councils were to meet in Salt Lake City with State Board of Health and Agency officials. Those two agencies were expected to state their positions regarding the project and its present state. In other city council action, city fathers agreed to make application for state funds to resurface the municipal airstrip next summer. Estimated cost would be $11,000 but the state would provide $8,000 of the funding.
