It bridges that n 'generation gap' as few, if any other performers can," was the Syracuse Herald-Journal- 's review of the international educational program "Up With People" casts which have been sweeping the nation. Some 450 young people in five "Up With People" casts will be reaching out and across the USA performing in over 400 communities in 35 states. Additional casts will tour Canada, Latin America and Europe. Their travels will bring them to the Bear River Valley on November 26 in a performance at the Bear River High School at 8 p.m. The two-homusical presentation provides the framework for a unique, effective, intercultural, educational experience for all involved, including the audience. Two featured songs which celebrate the importance and equality of people, "The Up With People Theme" and thought provoking "What Color Is God's Skin" return with great emphasis in this well-know- show. year's The presentation features original arrangements, a series of medleys; one of which features global folk heritage from such diverse lands as Venezuela, Ireland, and Belgium. "The Farm House," inspired by "Up With People's" 23 city tour of Yugoslavia last spring, mirrors discovery of unexpected treasure in the lives of a peasant community. Audience is invited to throw a block party in a featured song which salutes the vast ethnic diversity of America, "Good-Tim- e Neighborhood Band." d Years and Just A "Two-hundre- 18, 1S7I PpS' Baby" pays tribute to the Bicentennial year from it's infancy to today. Other musical collections profile American musical taste from historic spirituals to the contemporary stylings of John Denver and Elton John. "Up With People" provides entertainment for the entire family, appealing to all ages. "Up With People" is an independent, nonprofit, educational organization which has become known around the world through the international casts of the "Up With People" show. Within the structure of these musical productions, produced and staged solely by "Up With People," the company seeks to provide young men and women with a unique and effective educational experience. This organization gives young people of all nationalities the opportunity to work together and travel throughout the nations to experience all facets of American life. Their musical talents strive to bring unity to all. The "Up With People" casts have performed in cities both large and small, college campuses, corporate headquarters, hospitals, orphanages and prisons throughout the world. Several cities in Utah have been scheduled in their current tour as eight Up With People casts travel through America. Upon their brief stay in the Bear River valley, the cast of 90 will seek lodging in homes throughout the area. Anyone who can provide housing for members of the "Up With People" cast Nov. 26 and 27 are asked to contact the Leader Office. Looking For Hobby ? Mrs. Allred has owned and managed the Pottery Hut on Garland's Main Street for over four years. Their interest however dates back some seven years when the Allreds lived at the Dugway Army Base. It was at the hobby center there that the Allreds were first introduced to ceramics. Mrs. Allred took some classes and has been hooked ever since. Now with her own classes Mrs. Allred has about 70 women enrolled in her free school of ceramics. She has day classes and two night classes. The classes are loosely structured and students come in and out during the class periods. "There are no tests and nobody flunks," laughed Mrs. Allred. On the other hand, it can be argued that youths who assume the obligation of making monthly payments are learning a valuable lesson in responsibility. But making payments is not the only element of responsibility in car ownership. Even though a teenager may be ready to accept the burden of making car payments on time, he or she may be entirely too casual about speed laws, "dragging State" or accepting challenges for a fatal race down a canyon.
