It was definitely a misprint and should have read that Governor Carter received 62 votes. President Gerald R. Ford received 171. Returning home Wednes day from a vacation in Philadelphia were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Suzi Thomas) Everton and attended Sacrament meeting where Dennis, who is Branch President in that A Brad Gbbs area, blessed his small Missionary Accepts Call A farewell testimonial for Elder Bradley Bryan Gibbs will be held at the regular Sacrament meeting at 6 p.m. in the Portage Ward Chapel Sunday, November 21. Brad has accepted a call to serve in the Guatemala City, Guatemala Mission. He will enter the Language Training mission in Provo December 10. Brad is a Bear River High School graduate, also a four year seminary grduate. He attended USU at Logan and classes at the LDS Institute last winter. He has earned d his Award and is an Eagle Scout. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan L. Gibbs of Portage. All friends and relatives of the missionary are invited to attend Sacrament meeting in Portage Sunday to share Brad's joys. Duty-To-Go- daughter and gave her the name of Sarah Jane Everton. The baby was named especially for Mrs. Moss and her daughter Mary Jane. Also coming for the blessing were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thorns of Bethesda, Md.; Dr. and Mrs. John of Salt Lake City, Jim Thomas and friend, Sue, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Vaughn Everton of Logan, Todd John of Philadelphia. A buffet luncheon was enjoyed at the Everton home following the meeting. For the blessing the baby was dressed in a long, elegant white dress designed by her grandmother, Mrs. Earl Thomas of Bethesda. Roger Hansen who has been stationed at Travis AFB in Calif., is spending a few weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Hansen and family before leaving for Germany to continue his service in the Air Force. Mr. and Mrs. Smith Richards of Carson City, Nev.; have been spending a few days visiting Mrs. Richard's father, Frank Wood. They came especially to attend the party honoring Mr. Wood on his 92nd birthday anni Anderson and daughter, Kimberly, of Malta, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pack of Blackfoot, Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Wilcox and David Christensen of Ogden, Mrs. Eunice Ravsten of Logan, Mrs. Lowell Christensen, Mrs. Melba Cottle, Mrs. Eva Clark, Miss Afton Ravsten of Clarkston, Mrs. Merlin Larson of Mantua. Burial took place in the Fielding cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Burton visited Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Peterson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Orton and family in Salt Lake City the forepart of last week. Enroute home they visited their daughter, Mrs. Larene Spendlove in Perry. Visiting E. Forrest Mun-so-n Tuesday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pack of Blackfoot. Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mason enjoyed fishing at Devil's Creek during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Norman of Corinne and Mr. and Mrs. Stan Walhstrom of Laketown visited Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Gam during the week. Mrs. Elma Petersen was happy to receive a phone call from her grandson, Steven Petersen, who is on submarine duty with the US Navy in South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lay-to- n of Layton visited Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Burton Wednesday evening. Mrs. Scott Hubbard and son, Shane, of Ogden visited Mr. and Mrs. Asael Godfrey Wednesday. Spending the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mason were their son, Phil McClellan was presented with a nice book. The Future Progress Guild met at the home of Mrs. Barbara King Thursday evening with Mrs. Aloha Garn and Mrs. Sylvia Rolley President as Mrs. Julie Wood conducted a short business meeting Mason and his friend Rob Kobiska of Los Angeles. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kent and family the past week was their daughter Mrs. Bill (Pam Kent) Mel Ion of Nurnberg, Germany Pam has been with her husband who is in the Armed Forces. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Kent and family entertained at a family dinner party honoring Pam. A delicious turkey dinner with all the trim- betes Association from Salt Lake City was on hand to present films related to the control and care of the diabetic. Mrs.. Joan Christensen, president of the organization, from Smithfield, also spoke to the group about the planned activities. Persons interested in joining such a Mrs. Margaret Hansen, Manager of the Credit Union at the McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden gave an informative discussion on finances. A lovely luncheon was served. The next meeting will be the annual Christmas party to be held Dec. 16 at the home of Mrs. RaEtta Jones with Mrs. Esta Pier-soMrs. Karen Miller and Mrs. Karen Wilcot as mings was enjoyed. Mellon until her husband is released from the service and will join her in January.
