I5;0Q0 Eyes She barely arrives home before she give them all a good Lysol bath, shampoos Known throughout the valley as the Doll Lady, Audrey Smith of Amalga has transapproximately planted 25,000 sets of eyes into nearly 50,000 dolls. It all began 25 years ago when her own daughter needed a body for her doll's head. They took a trip to the Deseret Industries in Logan to find the missing anatomy. While there, she noticed the dirty, donated dolls and after finding the body they came for, Audrey asked to take the other dolls home and clean them. For 25 years now, she has trekked to Deseret Indus- tries throughout their hair, and evaluates their needs. Through the years Mrs. Smith has kept bodies, arms, legs, even heads of dolls that could not be used as they came from various areas. From these sources she always has a supply of parts to replace a bald head with a good one, an armless body with a complete body, a broken leg with a whole one. With all her spare parts she's able to restore arms, hands, legs, even heads and eyes to unwanted toys. When she finishes, the dolls look new and she journeys back to Deseret Idaho, Wyoming and Utah gathering her dirty chicks under her wing. Industries with clean, re Mrs. Smith noticed an Indian family about to leave the store. As the children saw all those dolls they couldn't get them out of the door. The father asked, "How much?" Mrs. Smith was all for giving them each one, but was told by the manager that she must put a price on them. a helping hand. Audrey has three rooms of paired and now wanted dolls. For 25 years Audrey Smith has donated her time, her lend and doll parts. Some of her collection dolls, unlimited energies to provide clean, beautiful toys to those who do not want to pay high prices for new dolls. Audrey and her husband, Odell share their home with a beautiful collection of Audrey's own dolls.. Her French doll dates back to around 1918 at the time of World War I. She has a doll with an oil cloth body that is 45 years old as well as 50 year old china dolls. "I've worked on repairing dolls for so long,". Audrey said, "that sometimes I have to ask Odell to help out." Many choice, experiences have happened to the Smiths as they traveled to various stores. One day they were returning a carload of dolls to the Preston Store.
