Almost everyone, especially anyone who frequents the county fair or the livestock auctions, knows Ben Tanaka, the auctioneer with the quick tongue and the equally quick wit. Ben is in great demand as an announcer at rodeos and an auctioneer, Mrs. Tanaka says. "He does all the talking in the family," she laughed. But Mrs. Tanaka, formerly Flora Kaneko of Center-fiel- d in Sanpete county, is in demand for her cooking. She has catered a variety of functions, parties and the Box Elder County Posse Ladies night. Both she and her husband are active members of the county posse. She is a graduate of Gunnison High and moved to Tremonton with her family shortly after graduation. Married now for almost 28 years, the Tanakas have five children: Mrs. Sharon Little, who lives in Ogden where she i; "a cvmnastin tearher She has also succeeded in making ttie Tanaka 's grandparents with youngsters Andrea and Shone. Archie exhibited the grand champion beef animal at the last Box Elder County Fair and Annette exhibited the grand champion hog. With their interest in the posse and Ben's horse trading ability, the entire family is naturally interested in riding. They also enjoy camping and outdoor activities. Mrs. Tanaka enjoys doing embroidery work and has been active in PTA and church organizations. Her love for cooking is obvious by the excellence of her product. "I change recipes to suit our own personal taste," she said. "I find my family likes my original way of preparing food. I particularly like to bake."
