Show Page 16, THE TIMES, November 4, LEADER-GARLAN- 1976 Obituaries R. LAMONT ROGERS Russell LaMont Rogers, Tremonton, died Saturday at the Logan Hospital of heart failure. Mr. Rogers was born Nov. 4, 1931, in Garland, a son of Russell Boyd and Alverta Thompson Rogers. He was married to Myrna Ley Miller on Oct. 18, 1951, in the Logan LDS Temple. He had worked as an inspector at Thiokol Corp. and had been a farmer. He was a graduate of Bear River High School and Garland LDS Seminary. He was an elder in the Tremonton 6th Ward, and had worked in the cub scouts program. Surviving are his widow of Tremonton; one son and two daughters, Mitchell LaMont Rogers, Miss Tami Rae Rogers, both of Tremonton; Mrs. Jeffrey (Becky Loy) Reese, Garland and one ", , grandchild. Also surviving are his parents of Garland; two brothers and four sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Edith) Thompson, Wise River, Mont. ; Mrs. Ralph (Lavon) Price, Mrs. William (Marilyn) Harris, Shoshone, Idaho; Mrs. Del Ray (Arlene) Stark, Shelley, Idaho; Norman T. Rogers, Brigham City; Burke W. Rogers, Gar44, of I keep forgetting to mention that the Burke Joneses ha ve a new grandchild. It's a boy and was born Oct. 13 in Ogden. The little guy weighed in at 6 lbs. 11 oz. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Jones and this is their first child. was very sorry to hear that Fred Douglas, a former resident of Howell, passed away Sunday morning. Douglas, 84, of 53 N. 1st E., died Sunday in the Box Elder County Nursing Home in Tremonton after an extended illness. Mr. Douglas was born April 29, 1892, in Wellsville, Utah, a son of Fred E. and Martha Walters Douglas. He was married to Mary LaPriel Perkins on Oct. 1, 1928, in Ogden. She died Sept. 26, 1972. Mr. Douglas was reared and educated in Wellsville and was a brickmason. In 1914 he purchased a farm in Howell, Utah. He was former president of the Blue Creek Irrigation Co. for 21 years, and was watermaster for three years, He was a member of the Brigham City 4th LDS Ward. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Louis P. Douglas, Howell; LaVoy Douglas, Tremonton; Mrs Don (Mary) Larson, Liver-morCalif.; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Cecil (Mattie) Sorenson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Evan B. (Luella) Murray, Logan. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Brigham City 4th Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Brigham City Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Box Elder County Nursing Home in Tremon- day call from our son, Larry, a.id family on Saturday.
