Show Page 14. THE LEADER THE GARLAND TIMES, March 11, 1W6 Vivian Blanchard Will Tre-monto- n, USU marching band. Mrs. Blanchard is the wife of Wayne Blanchard and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conn J. Haderlie of Logan. She is the mother of five children. At the age of 13, Mrs. Blanchard was thewinner of the Stillmann-Kell- jMano com- y petition in the state of Utah. Mrs. Blanchard studied under Irving Wassermann at USU. During this time, she was the winner of three talent shows and was nominated as one of the finalists for the annual Robins Award in music. A member of Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society, Mrs. Blanchard was chosen as the StuKiwanis Outstanding dent in the School of Humanities upon graduation from USU in 1963. Mrs. Blanchard also played the violin in the uni- versity orchestra and flute in the band. She served as KiiffMSfS pert - I accompanist for the university choir and played for many school musicals. Also on the program are Michael Ballam, formerly of River Heights; Becky Dal-bformerly of Logan; and Sheri Manning, formerly of Smithfield. y, Being reestablished after an absence of five years, the marching band will begin playing next fall during athshows and in letic half-tim- e parades. Deepest sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Bud (Ellie) Askie of Harper Ward, former Fielding residents in the death of their infant daughter born March 3 in the Cooley hospital in BrighamCity. Visiting Mrs. Askie in the hospital during the week were Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mason and Mrs. Elmo Munson. Mr. and Mrs. Mason also attended the funeral services held in the Rogers Mortuary in Tremo-nto- n Monday. The baby was named JoLee LaRose Askie. Sunday guests of Mrs: Alene Sutherland were Mr. and Mrs. Glade Sutherland and family of Logan. Mrs. Visiting Mr. and Herman Potter and family Saturday were Mrs. Keith Anderson and three daughters of Ogden. Attending the State Bowling Tournament held in the Bountiful Bowling Center Saturday were Mrs. Gale Welling, Mrs. Verl Anderson, Mrs. Lucille Potter. They were accompanied by Mrs. John Laws of Bothwell, Mrs. Max Hyde of Tremon-to- n and Mrs. Ora Hess of Riverside. Mr. and Mrs. David Scott and daughter Annette and son Daren spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lewis and family in Idaho Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gam had as their Sunday guests Mr. and Mrs.. Gerry Garn and family of Idaho Falls. Troy Garn had participated in a hockey game between Idaho Falls and Ogden in Ogden Saturday. Mrs. Doris Smith joined a group of former high school classmates for a party at the home of Mrs. Doris Roche I evening, vuicia attending were Mrs. Winona Gardner, Mrs. Joyce Cornwall, Mrs. Luana Richins of Mrs. Riverside, Mary Adams of Tremonton. A light luncheon was enjoyed. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leo Earl in Logan Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Earl. Visiting Mrs. Donetta Petersen Thursday was her daughter Mrs. Carol Jensen of Brigham City. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Scott and family were Mrs. Scott's borther-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Dean Price and family of Pocatello. Spending the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wynn Hansen was their son Major Scott Hansen of Seattle. Ma: jor Hansen had accompanied a group of Air Force Cadets of the University of Washington to Hill AFB for a special indoctrination course sponsored by the Air Force ROTC. Miss Vicki Hansen, a student at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and daughter of Major Hansen also spent Sunday at the Wynn Hansen ; of Ogden. Enjoying dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger Saturday were Robert Anger and Dana Simmons of Salt Lake City; Christopher Anger of Bountiful Mrs. Visiting Mr. and Gordon Smith and family Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kimber and son Paul of Ogden. Mrs. Rodney Visiting Wright and family in Richmond during the week were Mrs. Teri Garn and family. Spending Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Sterling . . home. Visiting Mr and Mrs. Dale and family in Salt Lake City Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Rosel Zundel. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Nish Zundel and family in Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Oyler of East Garland attended the viewing for Owen Cheney, former resident of East Garland held in the Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City Friday . The occasion was Keith Moss's birthday anniversary. Elder Kim Moss who is serving a LDS mission in Vancouver, Canada called to extend best wishes to his father. They spent eight days touring through Arizona and into visited with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnson in Las Vegas and then spent a few days with Jim and Verda Nessen in Yuma, Arizona. Enroute home they stopped in Tempe, Arizona where they visited a few days with and Mrs. Carmen Wood family.
