Although worried for awhile, Mrs. Scott said she was somewhat consoled by the fact that the family dog was also missing. The good cook said the farm also has an additional benefit- - lots of work for the kids. And the Scotts have a barnyard full of kids who have helped out on the farm. Mark. 24, is married now with two little boys of his own. Pauline. 22. LaRene. 20, and Charlene, 19. are also married. . Still living at home are Jolene, 18. a senior at Bear River high. V'alene, 17, a junior, and Kicky, a ninth grader. Mrs. Scott is a firm believer in equipping the female side of the family with the arts necessary to be good housewives. She likes to sew and for a long time created the clothes for her daughters until they were old enough to sew for themselves. Now she sews lor her grandkids doubling as baby sitter once in a while. She is active in the Fielding ward where she serves as Junior Sunday School secretary and a visiting Relief Society teacher. She also taught Primary giving it up only recently. Being a dairyman's wife includes the usual chores that go with a husband who milks 70 head of cows a day. In the summer she doubles as truck driver and handyman. Try these recipes out on your family: Beef Stew 'My own concoction' 2C. left over roast beef bite size pieces, 2C. carrots (diced), 2c. potatoes, 2 bullion - cubes. Mix together in a casserole dish - cover with water. Add about 2 of an onion. Mix 4 T constarch and water to mixture. Salt and pepper to taste. Bake in oven at 325 degrees till vegetables are tender. Homemade White Bread 1 qt. milk (scalded) add M to 34 cup sugar, 3T salt, 1 square margarine. (Mix together and cool) . Put 7 T. dry yeast and about 1 2 c. warm water - sprinkle in a little sugar - set aside till dissolved. When mixture is cool add liquids together. Add I 7 beaten eggs to liquid. Add flour - small amounts at a time - mixing after each addition. Do this until it's kneadable. Makes a soft dough. Let rise until double in bulk. I grease the top to keep it moist. When cake is cool spread on top and sprinkle with nuts. Lemon Pie water, 2 c. sugar, juice of 2 lemons. Grate a little rind (optional), 3 eggs seperated, 2 T. butter, 8 level T. cornstarch. Combine sugar, water and lemon juice in saucepan and boil. Beat egg yolks and add to hot mixture and thicken with cornstarch. Cool and put in baked pie shell. Top with beaten egg whites. .
