Waiting Spouse Support Group During separations, family units are stressed. The waiting spouse will be faced with the responsibilities which normally involve the help of the military partner; and whether the waiting spouse is male or female, the added responsibilities will at times produce stress. At the same time, if children are involved, they too will experience stress. The military member will also experience stress because of the separation and concern about the welfare of his or her family. The waiting spouse group meets the first Thursday and the third Wednesday monthly at the Family Support Center 'from 9 p.m. The group does a wide variety of activities from bowling, crafts, guest speakers and demonstrators and workshops. Babysitting is also free. The group gives the waiting spouse a chance to meet and connect with other spouses and to receive support during the separation. If you "or someone you know is or will be a waiting spouse, please call the Judy Maughan at the Family Support Center, 7-- Ext. or 91 The next meetings will be held on July 7 and 20.
