Roald The nationwide Noncommissioned Officers' Association will be sponsoring a job fair for all veterans and soon to be separated or retired military at the Clarion Hotel, Colorado Springs, Colo. The event will be held Jan. 24 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Representatives from local and national companies, as well as several local, state and federal agencies, will be at the job fair attempting to recruit applicants for positions throughout the U.S. and overseas. After a tour of the Capitol and grounds, the group rode the elevator to the 26th floor of the LDS Church headquarters building for a bird's-ey- e view of the city and met with Elder Dallin Oaks who greeted the group and spoke of his time in uniform and belief in freedom and families. They were then given guided tours of Temple Square with language interpreters and films about family, good cheer, and the Mormon temple. The group had reserved seats for a Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearsal and each family received a cassette tape of 16 songs sung by the world famous choir. The tour ended with dinner including Christmas carolers and one of the representatives said, "The evening was spectacular, one we will remember the rest of our lives, showing us the true meaning of your Christmas." All veterans, retirees or soon to be separated or retired active duty military members are encouraged to attend, regardless of rank. An NCOA membership is not required. The association sponsors job fairs throughout the U.S. and in Germany providing veterans with an opportunity to be interviewed by several potential employers and conduct their own comparison shopping of potential employers.
