The ceremony concluded with a spontaneous round of applause from those gathered for the event. well-wishe- rs Volunteers show they care as Hill campaign begins The Combined Federal Campaign was started at Hill AFB last Tuesday when more 7 September 5, than 300 military and civilian key workers met in the base theater and heard the appeal of the assistant chairman of the campaign, Richard McKenzie, deputy director of . He said that everyone was part of the American system, a system that helps people. Volunteers do not rely , on a government to force them to give to a cause; it is all done voluntarily. Regarding the military personnel and compensation the Senate and amendment for 1980 (Nunn-Warner- ), House have passed it. Many activities have been planned that will be of interest to all base personnel, military and civilian. Beginning today, one of three employees of Hispanic heritage is being featured in the Hill Top Times to portray the theme of the week, 14-2- 0. that there has been and still is "Progress . through Education" for Hispanic people. On Sept. 15, Catholic Mass will be held in the base chapel, building 475, at 10 a.m. Sept. 16, a roving band will perform throughout the base, playing music associated with the Hispanic people. On Sept. 17, a fashion show will be given in the Officers' Club from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., Carol Perkins will present other Hispanic entertainment at the main entrance of building 849. Because tacos are a large part of the Hispanic diet, a taco stand will be erected in front of the base exchange during lunch time on Sept. 19.
