Show Cedar Fort Celebration To Highlight Pioneer Day Mhe traditional Pioneer Day celebration will be held in Cedar Fort, on Wednesday, July 24, with the public invited to attend. There will be many events throughout the day, climaxed by an early evening rodeo witn real cowboys and wild stock from the moun tain ranges. , There will be a parade at 12 noon, featuring miniature floats and other "entries. Everyone is invited to participate in this parade par-ade with bicycles, floats, marching march-ing groups, rhythm bands, etc. " There will be a program at 1:00 p.m., at the church, with games and races to follow at 2:00 p.m. - The rodeo will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the mountain side a-'ia, which has been placed in first class condition for the occasion. There is plenty of parking space, and it is cool in the shadow of the towering mountain peaks. REGISTER BY 5 P.M. Rodeo contestants are reminded remind-ed to register with Dougals Hales before 5 p.m. on July 24. Horses are being provided by the Allred and Son ranch of Roosevelt. Calves and steers will Be brought in from the range by the local ranchers. : There will be prizes awarded to winning contestants at the rodeo and other events. REFRESHMENTS The refreshment stands will be in operation shortly before noon and will continue throughout the day. A plate lunch will be served serv-ed at the church, after the rodeo, at economy prices. (The popular dance, usually held during the evening, will not take place this year, as the hall has been razed to make way for the new church and recreation recrea-tion center.) All proceeds will be assigned toward the building fund for the Cedar Valley Ward, which included includ-ed Cedar Fort and Fairfield residents. resi-dents. The general committee includes in-cludes the ward bishopric, Bishop Bish-op Cloyd Harris, with Norman Erickson and Kirk Davis, counselors, coun-selors, and Glen Ashley, ward clerk. Douglas Hales is rodeo chairman, chair-man, with Fon Cook in charge of games and races. Arthur Cook is in charge of stands and refresh ments. Renee Chilton Newbold was general chairman. Serving on the reunion commitee were Janice Johnson Edwards, Janice Dean Mayne, LaRae Larsen Nelson, Donna Richards Nielson, Sherelene Shere-lene Christenson Hobson, and Jolene Grant Mereidith. Tom Anderson was master of ceremonies for the very delightful delight-ful program. A musical Trio, Jolene Grand Meridith, Janice Johnson Edwards and Janice Spainhower Adams sang several sev-eral numbers. They were accompanied ac-companied by Donna Richards Nielson. Sherelene Christensen Hobson, and Marion Goode Robinson Rob-inson gave original readings. Jolene Jo-lene Grant Meridith read stat istics which she had compiled about class members. Janice Dean Mayne presented trophies to class members for Patriotism (Kay Pittman), Travel CBuelah Fragton Fletcher). Most children child-ren (Dan and Elenor Greenland) and most famous person (Paul Newman), and for exercising democratic spirit (Tom Anderson). Ander-son). After the program, a delicious dinner was served. Donna Richards Rich-ards Nielson was in charge of the table decorations she made each person a little wise owl graduate. Flowers of rod roses and white mums added to the beauty of the tables. Dancing and visiting completed the evening to make it an evening even-ing to remember.
