Robinson Laid fo Rest Here Last Tuesday Funeral services were held for Ellen Jane Mann Robinson, 62, who died of natural causes Friday, July 5, in a Provo Hospital. Hos-pital. She was born February 12, 198 in Provo, a daughter of Wilam and Ellen Robertson Mann. She was married to Earl C. Robinson, Robin-son, December 29, 1932 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a teacher at the Utah State Training School for 15 years. Survivors include her husband; son and daughtes, Roy Robinson, Mrs. Glen (Earllne) Crawford, both of American Fork; Mrs. Ray (Joy) Proctor, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. James (Carrie) Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Ypsllanti, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, sis-ters, William Mann, and Mrs. Lee (Letty) Leavltt, both of American Fork; Mrs. Ken (Ruby) Westwood, Jasper Mann, both of Provo. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 12 noon in the American Amer-ican Fork Sixth Ward Chapel. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Death Calls Mrs. Thomas Gray, 77 Mrs. Thomas (Ethel Fox) Gray, 77, Lehi native and lifelong resident, res-ident, died July 3, at 6:35 a.m. in the American Fork Hospital, of natural causes. She was born July 15, 1890, In Lehi, a daughter of Alfred Marshall and Mary Southwick Fox. She was married to Thomas L. Gray, June 13, 1912, in the Salt Lake Temple. Her husband survives her. Also surviving are one son and two daughters, Owen L. Gray, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Paul (Clarice) Sykes and Mrs. Charles (Carma) Llndstrom, both of PI. Grove; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother La Von Fox of Midvale, Utah. Impressive funeral services were held Saturday, at 1:00 p.m., in the Wing Mortuary Chapel. Bishop Eldred Fox of Lehi Third Ward officiated. W. W. Roach offered the prayer with the family. Mrs. Evelyn Slater played the prelude and postlude music. The Invocation in the chapel was offered by Forrest Uttleford, a nephew. Bishop Fox, who is a nephew, presented the biographical sketch and tribute. Mrs. Slater played an organ selection, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought." Succeeding speakers were A.J. Sabey, a nephew, and !?oss L. Bratt. As an interlude, Mrs. Francis Trinnaman sang a solo, "Beyond the Sunset," with Mrs. Slater as the accompanist Linda Linstrom played a piano solo. Homer Thayn, close neighbor and friend of the family, spoke the closing prayer. Relief Society members cared for the beautiful flowers. Pallbearers were Charles Llndstrom, Raymond Crump, Lee Llndstrom, Paul Sykes, Jay Sykes and Owen L, Gray. Interment took place in the Lehi City Cemetery, where Ben Jorgensen offered the de dicatory prayer. Alfred Dexter, Jr., Former Am. Fork Resident, Succumbs Funeral services were held recently in Salt Lake City for Alfred Dexter Jr., the husband of Laura Vance, a former resident resi-dent of American Fork. He was also a former resident of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. Mr. Dexter was born July 12, 1917 in Standarville, Utah, a son of Alfred and Margaret Barnes Dexter. He married Laura Vance on April 16, 1941 in the Salt Lake LD3 Temple. He was a graduate of the PI. Grove High School, Brigham Young University, and had attended at-tended Harvard University. He has been a member of the Sugar House Lions Club and the Alpine Al-pine Country Club. During World War n he served as a lieutenant commander in the Navy. He had been the office manager of the Utah Whole- t Funeral Services Held Saturday For George Harris Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6, for J. George Harris, in the American Fork Ninth Ward Chapel at 2 p.m. Services were under the direction direc-tion of Oral T. Dalton, counselor coun-selor in the ward bishopric. Mr. Harris, 63, died at his home of a heart ailment on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Jnly 3. He married Melva Warnick September 7, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a farmer and an employee em-ployee at the Utah State Training Train-ing School. He was a former member of the Manila LDS Ward bishopric. Survivors include his widow, sons and daughters, Warren J. Harris, Richfield; Lynn W. Harris, Har-ris, Ogden; G. Melvin Harris, Venice, Sevier County; Mrs. Robert Rob-ert E. (Louise) Wilcox, Granger; Mrs. Lynn (Karen Kay) Newman, Pleasant Grove; 21 grandchildren; grandchild-ren; brothers and sister, Sheldon Harris, Salt Lake City; EIRoy Harris and Mrs. Bernard (Hene) Welch, both of American Fork. The family prayer at the mortuary mor-tuary was offered by Robert E. Wilcox, prelude and postlude music was played by Elizabeth Shill and Lynn W. Harris offered of-fered the invocation. Susan Harris gave the Life Sketch and the first speaker was K. Warnick Swenson. Ethel Welch sang a vocal solo, "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Evelyn Harris. President Boyd L. Fugal was the next speaker followed by an organ duet played by Hal and Lucy Haycock. Bishop Wendell Lambert offered the closing re marks and G. Melvin Harris spoke the benediction. Warren J. Greenwood, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Greenwood, Green-wood, of American Fork, was assigned June 17 as an aircraft mechanic in the 74th Reconnaissance Reconnais-sance Airplane Company near Phu Loi, Vietnam. Roberts Dies Suddenly, Funeral Held Tues. Coming as a shock to his many friends and relatives in the area was the sudden death of Karl Peet Roberts, 57, long time plasterer and builder. He passed away on Friday, July 5, at 6:00 p.m., at his home, 243 East Main, American Ameri-can Fork, following a heart attack. at-tack. Mr. Roberts, who had followed the vocation of plastering and building for many years, was born Dec. 27, 1910, in Lehi. He was a son of Joseph M. and Alice Ann Peet Roberts. He received his education in the Lehi schools and was a member mem-ber of the LDS Church. He was married to Margaret Houser, June 19, 1951, in Provo. They lived in Lehi prior to moving to American Fork. He is survived by his wife, American Fork; one son, Harold, Har-old, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a stepson, step-son, George D. Kelly, Arvada, Colorado; one brother, Nile D. Roberts, Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Lillie) May Peterson, Lehi; two grandchildren. grandchild-ren. Lott dedicated dedica-ted the grave. Vaughn J. Lewis Completes Cooking Course Army Private Vaughn J. Lewis, son of Mr s. Floretta Lewis, of American Fork, completed a cooking course June 21, at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. During the eight-week course, he was trained in meat cutting plus cake and pastry baking. He also learned how to prepare and serve food in Army mess halls and in the field. His father, Kenneth J. Lewis, also lives in American Fork. Last Publication: July 18. 1968, RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION providing provid-ing for the Issuance and confirming con-firming the sale of $160,000 General Obligation Water Bonds of American Fork City, Utah County, Utah. WHEREAS, at a special bond election duly and lawfully called and held in American Fork City, Utah County, on April 30, 1968, the following proposition was submitted to a vote of the qualified qual-ified electors of said city who had paid a property tax in the year preceding said election. "Shall negotiable coupon General Obligation Bonds of the City of American Fork, Utah, in the amount of not to exceed $160,000 bearing interest in-terest at a rate of not to exceed six percent (6) per annum and due and payable In not to exceed twenty (20) years from the date of said bonds be issued and sold for the purpose of paying all or part of the cost of constructing construct-ing improvements to the water wa-ter system in said City?" WHEREAS, the result of said election was declared by the City Council of said city, sitting as a Board of Canvassers, by resolution resol-ution duly passed on the 6th day of May, 1968, from which it appears ap-pears that the total number of votes cast at said election in favor of the issuance of said general gen-eral obligation water bonds was 282 and that the total number of votes cast at said election against the issuance of said general obligation obli-gation water bonds was 73. WHEREAS, the bonds authorized author-ized at said election have been this day offered for sale upon sealed bids and, when said bids were opened, it was found that the bid of Continental Bank and Trust and Associates of Salt Lake City, Utah was the highest and best bid submitted for said water bonds; and WHEREAS, said bonds have been awarded to said purchasers at the price of par and accrued accru-ed interest to the date of delivery deliv-ery plus a premium, if any, of $68.00.
