The Lodge is also home to a museum opening mid-summer that showcases the film industry in the Moab area. In 1948, the first locally filmed movie was shot on the site of the Red Cliffs Lodge. Since then over 100 movies and commercials have been filmed there; including Rio Grande, Son Of Cochese, Warlock, The Commancheros, Ten Who Dared, Wagon Master and the original Marlboro commercials. John Wayne was a frequent fre-quent guest of the ranch and became close friends with the original owners who visited him at his home in California. The Lodge has been entrusted with all of the memorabilia that the city of Moab has collected collect-ed over the years and, along with their own extensive assortment of western artifacts, has created a unique museum muse-um that is destined to become one of Moab's "must see" tourist attractions. The Red Cliffs Lodge is home to the Castle Creek Winery, where they currently produce 6 wines made from locally grown grapes. The new tasting room will be opening in June and will offer tours of the new winery as well. Red Cliffs owner Colin Fryer wants his guests to enjoy the western experience that is available on this working work-ing cattle ranch. Although the lodge offers all of the luxurious lux-urious amenities you would find in any world class facility, facili-ty, they have worked hard to keep the prices affordable so that the old style western hospitality the Red Cliffs Lodge has to offer is available to everyone. Group rates as well as a 300-person conter- ence center make the lodge a great place for a company retreat. Located just 14 miles up the " Colorado River from Moab on Highway 128, the Lodge is only 3 12 hours from the Wasatch Front but far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You owe it to yourself and your family to experience this stunningly beautiful resort for your next vacation or weekend getaway.
