(Dirge Flaming Gorge: year-round playground for the entire family Flaming Gorge, the canyon so-named so-named for its flaming red canyon formations by explorer Major John Wesley Powell in 1869, offers a wide variety of activities from river-rafting, scenic drives, and boating to world-class fishing both winter and summer; and others too numerous to mention.
