BARGER Times Writer American Fork's Mira Vista Condos offer a wide range of choices for senior citizens while still rendering assistance when needed. Its goal is to provide comfort com-fort for seniors, while not limiting their options. Located on a 30 acre campus with a great view of the mountains, Mira Vista alleviates alle-viates the pressure of having hav-ing to take care of a large house or yard. That way,., seniors age 55 and up can spend more time with family fami-ly or on hobbies they enjoy. Besides having had a 32- bed assisted living facility since June of 1997, Mira' Vista now has 23 independent independ-ent condominiums for seniors sen-iors to live securely yet actively, said David Howard, facility administrator. The condos recently completed in Phase I of the project vary from studios to two-bedrooms and range from 600 to . - : t I ;' ., if f-l 1,200 square feet. The units are decorated and furnished by residents, allowing for individuality and personal preference. When Phase I has 70 percent per-cent of its units sold, Phase II will soon be on its way next summer, adding more condos. The new addition will have two-story buildings build-ings with elevators, providing provid-ing easy access. One advantage to the facility is that if seniors encounter serious health problems after moving into one of the condos, it is easy to move into the assisted living liv-ing unit without having to leave the neighborhood. Some of the proposed services available at Mira Vista include maintenance, housekeeping, transportation transporta-tion and menu-selected meals in the facility's dining room. Each condo unit has its own kitchen, so residents can cook for themselves or have someone else cook for them. Mira Vista's perks include professionally landscaped grounds, a private dining room, a beauty salon and barber shop, a library and a big screen TV and VCR. The facility also has several options for sociality such as movie nights and exercising groups. The assisted living facility facili-ty also contains 24-hour security, as well as in-room emergency call lights, and smoke and fire alarms. Office assistance, religious services are also available.
