This year's conference will focus fo-cus on the most up-to-date information infor-mation regarding current employment em-ployment trends and labor laws. Jack Trout, nationally known author and marketing expert, will be the keynote speaker. He will address the current marketing and promotional trends. Also, experts in the field of employment and labor will give presentations on topics such as: "Sexual Harassment in the Workplace," Work-place," "Creating a Childcare Collaborative," "Employers and Regulatory Agencies," "Economic "Eco-nomic Forecast," "Americans with Diabilities Act (ADA)," "Hiring "Hir-ing and Firing for Small Businesses" Busi-nesses" and "Leadership in Business." Busi-ness." A question and answer session ses-sion will also be available for those in attendance. During the conference, "The 1999 Wage Date Report" and "The Economic Report to the Governor" publications will be distributed. The restaurant res-taurant officially opened to the public Monday. "We opened Dos Serranos in Utah, because we decided we could offer something in the Mexican food segment that Utah didn't have," said Don McComas, co-owner of the restaurant with Dan Yanez. "We like to think of ourselves as serving upscale Mexican food with a California flare." Aside from specializing in freshness, the Utah restaurant chain prides itself on flavor. They have over 200 items on their main menu, including customer favorite favor-ite Chile Verde, Mesquite Broiled Steak Taco and Mushroom and Spinach Enchiladas. They also offer between seven and nine sauces made fresh daily. Along with their main menu, Dos Serranos offers the Chefs seasonal menus. With lighter foods in the Spring and Summer and more hearty for the Fall and Winter months. They also have a lunch menu, which includes smaller portions at reduced costs as well as Saturday and Sunday brunch specials. They also offer a kids menu. . The chef of Dos Serranos is Rene Soriano, born in Guatemala and raised in Mexico. He was trained as a chef in California. "Our next locations are planned for Logan and St George and possibly downtown Salt Lake," McComas said. "Our plans are to grow this company to at least 10 restaurants in eight to 10 years." With the opening of their newest new-est restaurant, Dos Serranos will employ approximately. 350 people, with an annual payroll of $1.3 million. The decor of the new restaurant is California eclectic with displays offish, sea life and seagulls. The hours of Dos Serranos are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday.
