The cholesterol screenings are $5 and will be held in the hospital's Education Center form 10 a.m. until noon. The next screening will be held December 14. Gas Laurel Gooch to wed Adam Darowski December fifteenth Laurel Gooch, daughter of Robert Rob-ert and Vickie Gooch, will marry Adam Darowski, son of Kay and Joe Darowski, on December 15, 1999 in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple. A reception will be held that evening from 6:30 until 8:30 at the Bungalow, 235 South 100 West, Pleasant Grove. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Mountain View High School and is currently attending BYU. She served a mission in the Oklahoma Okla-homa City, Oklahoma Mission. Her fiance is a graduate of Mountain View High School and is currently attending BYU. He served a mission in the Lithuania, Vilnius Mission. The couple will make their first home in Orem. Kathryn Frame to marry Giegh Rogerson December eleventh Kathryn Frame, daughter of Jerry and Susan Frame of Orem will marry Giegh Rogerson, son of Robert and Marleen Rogerson on December 11, 1999 in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. A reception will be held that same day from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Sharon ThirdFourth Ward Chapel, 445 South 700 East, Orem. The bride-to-be graduated from Orem High, Snow College and UVSC in Business Management. Manage-ment. She is currently employed at NuSkin. Her fiance is from Redding, California and graduated from Shasta High School. He served a full-time mission in Kentucky Louisville. The couple will make their first home in Orem. LAUREN GOOCH AND ADAM DAROWSKI Schlappi celebrates 85th birthday Lloyd Keith Schlappi celebrated his 85 birthday this past week. He was born November 30, 1914 in Washington, Utah to Henry John and Adeline Sproul Schlappi. Lloyd was the youngest of nine children. He graduated from Delta High School where he was active in basketball, football, and track. He attended BYU in 1933 where he met and married Carol Remund in the Manti Temple. They transferred to Utah State University and Lloyd graduated in 1936 with a bachelors degree in Agriculture and Agriculture Economics. He taught Vocational Agriculture Agricul-ture at Altamont and Uintah High f LLOYD SCHLAPPI Schools, and then worked for the Dept. of Agriculture and the family fam-ily moved to Randolph, Utah. In 1941, Lloyd served in World War I as a Naval Communication Officer. Of-ficer. After the war, Lloyd, Carol and two sons moved to Delta, where Lloyd found employment and became be-came a partner with his brother-in-law in the wholesale gas and oil distribution in West Millard County. A change in employment then took them to Fillmore, Brigham City and Richfield, where Lloyd retired in 1979 from the Bureau of Land Management. After retirement, Lloyd and Carol served in various temple and mission assignments. In 1981 they were called to serve as missionaries mis-sionaries to the Washington DC Temple Visitor Center. In 1985 they served in the Manti Temple Presidency as second counselor. Since, they have served in the Manti, Provo and Timpanogos Temples. Lloyd & Carol have 4 children; Kent, Larry, Roger and Carolyn. They have 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren. Carol passed away in September 1999 and the family wants their dear father & grandfather to know how much they appreciated the loving care and kindness Lloyd gave Carol during her last days on earth. He certainly was an inspiration and example for the family. A j. Si. 5? He was born and raise in Orem. He is the father of seven, the grandfather of 33 and great grandfather of five.
